Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1271

Pop, pop, pop. More confetti cannons went off, filling the air with bursts of color. That was when Camila finally realized just how many people had gathered at Eagle's Peak Estate.

Her parents were there, along with Mr. Williams, Uncle Douglas, Aunt Charlotte, Sarah, Larry Adams, Lillian, her mentor, Jarvis Peters, Aaron—basically everyone she knew. All of them were smiling at her and Dennis, their eyes shining with happiness and warm wishes.

They’d been waiting inside the house, probably for ages, just to see this moment. Only when Dennis slipped the ring onto Camila’s finger did they finally come out into the open.

Camila looked around in surprise. “What are you all doing here?”

Sarah Brown shot a quick glance at the ring on Camila’s hand, then flashed a wide grin. “We’re here to witness your big moment, of course. As your best friend, there’s no way I’d miss you getting proposed to.”

Larry Adams stepped forward, throwing an arm around Sarah’s shoulders. “Hang on, isn’t this the part where they’re supposed to kiss? Shouldn’t we celebrate Dennis’s successful proposal first?”

Jarvis Peters and Aaron both started clapping and joined in. “Yeah, yeah, kiss! Kiss!”

Soon, everyone was chanting together. “Kiss! Kiss!”

The older generation kept quiet, but the way they looked at Camila and Dennis was full of love and pride.

Standing in front of so many people made Camila a little shy. She glanced up at Dennis, her eyes practically asking him if they really had to do this with everyone watching.

Dennis didn’t say a word. Instead, he just pulled her gently into his arms and kissed her, soft and sweet, barely a brush but enough to set off a round of cheers.

“Congratulations!”

“Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!”

Lillian clapped her little hands together and bounced with excitement. “Yay! Daddy and Mommy are getting married! Now we’ll always be together as a family…”

“It really is wonderful…” Sarah said, picking Lillian up. Tears filled her eyes, even though she smiled. She was happy for her best friend, truly, but part of her heart ached with memories of everything they’d overcome to get to this day.

If only things hadn’t been so complicated. She wished Camila a long, healthy, and happy life with Dennis.
