Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1127

Mr. Byron couldn’t help but laugh. “That actually sounds perfect. I’ll bring Vivien with me and we’ll come visit you. We’ve been itching to explore Estonia, try all the food, and see the sights. Your country has so much to offer.”

The mention of future trips lifted the mood, making the whole goodbye feel less heavy.

“You two are always welcome,” Dennis said with a grin. “But there’s one more thing I need to ask of you.”

“Of course. Whatever you need, just tell me,” Mr. Byron replied, not even pausing to think.

Dennis explained his request, and Mr. Byron listened closely, looking completely serious for the first time that day. When Dennis finished, Mr. Byron nodded. “Don’t worry. I’ll handle everything. You just focus on getting home. I promise, I’ll make sure she gets back to you safe and sound.”

“Thanks, man.” Dennis patted him on the shoulder.

By now, the sky outside was starting to brighten. They’d been up the whole night, and exhaustion was catching up with them. Dennis sent everyone off to get some sleep and went upstairs to join Camila.

Camila slept right through the whole night, completely oblivious. She didn’t wake up until morning, and by then Dennis was already up. He sat down beside her and gently told her it was time to go home.

“We can really go back?” Camila blinked in surprise, a bright smile spreading across her face. She’d thought for sure Dennis still had a million things to deal with.

He leaned in and kissed her softly. “Yeah, we can. But there’s one last thing I need to take care of here, so I won’t be heading back with you. Don’t worry though, I’ve asked Mr. Byron to have his guys escort you. I’ll meet you at home.”

Camila frowned in confusion. “Why aren’t you coming with me? I can wait for you, or we can go together when you’re done.”

Before she left, Dennis called Sammy and told him to stay with Camila and keep her safe. That same morning, Dennis’s team took Professor Keri onto a private jet for the flight home.

Dennis stayed on in Kaston for two more days with a few of his men. He led the search of Professor Keri’s headquarters himself, making sure nothing was left behind. Mr. Byron was busy too, leading a team to shut down Keri’s secret labs.

On the third day, once everything was settled, Dennis, Aaron, and the rest of the team headed home quietly. As soon as he got back to Cabinda, Dennis went straight to see Professor Keri, who was now being held under tight security.

Keri had been in a fog for days. The whole thing felt unreal. He’d always believed his powerful connections in Kaston would protect him, that no one would dare take him out of the country. But from the moment he was captured to being flown out and locked up again, no one had stopped them. Just like that, he was gone.

Now, seeing the man standing in front of him, Keri searched his memory, trying to figure out if they’d ever met. Nothing came to mind. Then he noticed Aaron, the man who had arrested him, standing respectfully behind this stranger. Suddenly, Keri felt a chill run through him. He looked at Dennis and asked, “Who… who are you?”
