Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1097

Even though Dennis Williams’s plan to help Camila Davis unwind had gotten sidetracked by unexpected trouble, things had finally settled down now that Red Spider was out of the picture. They could finally go out and enjoy themselves without having to look over their shoulders.

Vivien had recovered and, along with Mr. Byron, welcomed them back with open arms. This time, they invited Dennis and Camila to visit the Byron family’s legendary winery.

Kaston’s wine was famous all over the world, and the Byron estate was even more impressive. It had been around for over a century, and some of the wines in their cellar were so rare that no amount of money could buy them on the open market.

Mr. Byron, ever the gracious host, uncorked a bottle from his private collection and poured everyone a glass. The rich aroma filled the room, and the taste was even better—smooth, deep, and unforgettable. Even Camila, who barely knew anything about wine, couldn’t help but take another sip.

Vivien laughed, teasing gently, “If you like it that much, Camila, then let us handle the wine for your engagement and wedding. It’s on us.”

The offer made Camila’s heart swell with gratitude. She grinned and said, “That might not be happening right away, but I’ll definitely take you up on it. Thank you.”

Mr. Byron just chuckled. “No need to be so polite. You two are going to get married sooner or later. If you’re not in a hurry, I’m sure Dennis is.”

Camila glanced at Dennis and caught the amused sparkle in his eyes. He didn’t argue, just pulled her a little closer and said, “You don’t have to worry about a thing. I’ll take care of all the details.”

He turned to Mr. Byron. “And don’t hold back on us. Camila, pick whichever wines you like and we’ll take a couple bottles home.”

Camila’s face lit up. She nodded, smiling up at him. “Whatever you say.”

After they left the winery, Camila and Dennis spent a few more days exploring the area with the Byrons, soaking in the sights and just enjoying the peace.

They didn’t keep their plans secret from the Byrons. The next morning, everyone gathered to say goodbye.

Vivien had just found out about their departure and looked genuinely sad as she came to see Camila off. “I can’t believe you’re leaving so soon. If I’d known, I would have prepared gifts. Now I don’t even have time.”

Even though Camila and Vivien hadn’t known each other long, they’d become real friends. Camila stepped in and gave her a hug, smiling. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll see each other again soon.”

She added, “After your baby is born, you should bring him to visit us. It’ll be our turn to play host. There’s so much to do and see in the capital, and it’s all so different from Kaston. You, Mr. Byron, and the baby are always welcome.”

Vivien’s face brightened at the idea. “We’ll definitely come! And I can’t wait to finally meet Lillian!”
