She said, “What else do you want from Jewel? Didn’t you ask to break up with her already? Now that you two have broken up, just behave the way an ex is supposed to and stay out of her business!”

Jewel turned to look at her. “Actually, I have to thank you for telling me the truth, or I would’ve still been kept in the dark like an idiot. I’ve been on pins and needles these days, thinking that Alex, that playboy, might’ve already had a new lover. Otherwise, why would he treat me like a stranger? Now, I can at least feel comforted. Isn’t this better than us turning from lovers to enemies in the future?”
