Summon Of The Sword novel Chapter 1873

Zander asked, "Commander, Aren't you mad at Derrick and Benji for abandoning the army?"

"Abandon?" Sean could not help laughing.

He did not expect Zander to think Derrick and Benji had abandoned the army.

It seemed Zander was mad about Derrick and Benji's retirement and must despise them. Otherwise, he would not have said such a thing.

Sean laughed and said, "Derrick and Benji would have abandoned the army if they had suddenly deserted in the middle of a war. I will kill them without mercy according to military rules! But Derrick and Benji didn't desert in the middle of a war. Besides, they applied to discharge and retired as per the procedure. How is that abandoning?"

"But they couldn't stand the hardship after all. They retired because they're unwilling to continue bearing the responsibility of protecting the country," Zander said, gritting his teeth.

"Not everyone is capable of such a huge responsibility, and not everyone has steel-like willpower. Zander, you're asking too much."

Sean waved his hand and motioned for Zander to sit down. However, instead of sitting down, Zander turned around and went to make Sean a cup of tea.

"We don't know what Benji's trouble is yet. We'll find out when we ask him tomorrow or the next day over a drink. If it's a financial problem, I will help him," Sean said to Zander.

Zander put down the teacup and nodded earnestly.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

In these three days, Sean and Zander had gone out to explore the city a few times. Although they did not explore the entire of Midwich, they visited some of the more famous places. The two now had some understanding of Midwich.

It was getting dark. 8 pm.

"Okay, we still have a table in the dining area..."

Before the waitress could finish speaking, Zander asked eagerly, "Only tables in the lobby? Are there no private rooms?"

"Private rooms are temporarily..."

While the waitress was talking, another waitress came over and whispered something in her ear.

The waitress's face lit up immediately, and she said, "You two are lucky. Someone just left, so we have a private room available now."

"It's great that you have one," Zander nodded with satisfaction.

Normally, it did not matter if they got a private room.
