“No!” Mrs Williams said. Shawn was surprised by his mother's utterances, he never expected that she would refuse to make Hannah his Luna, when he set off on that journey with Hannah he had assured her that his parents would welcome her, but what he was seeing was not the case. The moment they had stepped into the house, he noticed that his parents had frowned at her presence. They already knew who she was and the fact that he was her mate, but they could not possibly let her be the luna of their Pack.

Glancing at Hannah, Shawn held her hand but then, she slowly slipped her hand away from him. She wouldn't want him to fight for her in front of his parents whom he had not seen for a long while. they only just met and it will not be cool that she will be the reason for his parents to be mad at him.

He looked at her and she shook her head hoping that he would get the message that she was trying to pass to him, but he did not, he was confused as to why she was acting this way when they had already talked about this in the car but what confused him even more was why his parents had bluntly rejected her.

“What do you mean no?”

“You know exactly what I mean, I cannot let that woman by the luna of this Park, that is never going to happen. do you even know what you're talking about”

“ She is my mate, you don't have any right to do that to me”

“ I know exactly who she is, but then, have you taken a look at her background? For someone who wants to be the Luna of the pack, she is an illegitimate child and illegitimacy rules her out to stay by your side and rule alongside you. We have come a long way. My son and I do not want you to do this. There are many women in this Pack. You can make them your Luna or any other in this pack, but not this woman. the both of you can never be together, you are completely two different words”

“ Mum”

“ You should listen to your mother,” his father Patrick said and he looked at him wondering when he was ever going to be on the same page with him. Of course, he was not surprised, his father always stood by her mother's side, and I will always take her side no matter what happens. Hearing about his Disapproval as well did not mean much to him as much as his mother's disapproval. He loved his mother so much that he always thought that she would support him no matter the decision that he made, but after this, he wasn't sure anymore that this same woman was the one who had nurtured him right from birth and had cried when the enemy attacked him”

“ Are we?” she raked a hand through her hair laughing, anxiety dwelled on her face. she had never been so confused and angry as she was today, all her life she had felt dejected, but she would not even let anyone see it and would not show it since it did not matter to her and none of those who mattered to her as well, they were not her mate and she did not want to hold onto, but Shawn came along and gave her hope, and somehow she was hanging on that hope before all of this. His parent's disapproval was a slap to her face and their words cut deeper into her heart, deeper than he realized. Which is why she could not just let him hold her. Because she was sad, angry, nervous, and anxious over everything that was happening around her. no one could fathom what she was feeling in her heart. they may have shared so much together and have told each other their secret, but this was just too much and she just wanted to be alone.

“ What do you mean are we? We talked about this, and we agreed on something”

“ No, you talked and listened, what do you want me to do exactly? What did you do? Did you stand up for me? Do you want me to stand up for myself? Do you want me to fight your parents? Do you have no idea what I'm facing? you are not the one wearing the shoes so please spare me the talks and let me be so that I can think and breathe even for a moment without you hovering around me”
