“You don't what?” he was confused, he hoped she would speak up so that he could tell what was running through her mind, but then she was making it impossible for him. her heart raced, and sweat covered her forehead. she looked into his eyes once again uncertain how he was feeling, nevertheless she knew she had to say it now or forever remain silent and that was not right.

“I don't think I can go with you”

“ what? Hannah, I thought you give Will it a thought”

“Well, I did” She raked her hand through her hair. It's not how she planned to tell him about it, tonight was not their best night but then, it had to be done since he was the one who wanted her response almost immediately, he had accepted that he would let her cool off when she told him she did not feel any attraction and bond. but he had refused to let her sleep it through and give him a response.

“And that is your response?”

She was confused.” what do you want me to say? do you think that I want this as well but come on Shawn, this is the only way for you to see that you are making a mistake and there is no such thing as a destined Bond between us, if there were I would have noticed it I tell you.

“ so you think I'm lying?”

“ No that's not what I said”

“ but that is what it looks like, look into my eyes and tell me that is not what you meant, tell me that is what you are thinking right now, you think I'm deceiving you, you think I said all those things just to get you to come with me, I am not that kind of person Hannah, I thought you knew better”

“I swear that is not what I meant”

“Well it doesn't look like you meant something else, does it?” he was Furious, how his words made him look like a liar but he was not lying, every single word he had said to her right from the first day that they met her has been nothing but the truth. there are times he has hidden some things from her but it isn't as if she has not hidden a lot from him as well, and it was only because he wanted to keep her safe from his enemies.

There was no need for her to get hurt in something she had nothing to do with, he cared about her and still does which is why he wanted her to go with him in the first place, if he didn't he would have left when he received the first phone call and when G met up with him in a restaurant and informed him that it was time for him to depart, he did not listen and stayed back, he could not bear leaving her here living her all alone with no one to care for her.

Shawn could still remember the time she came home late and was tired and hungry it was him who made dinner for them to eat, he thought about all those things and just couldn't leave her, and more especially the bond between them made it impossible for him to turn his back on her and just walk out the door as if their marriage had meant nothing to him. He had not known who his bride was but right from the first day that he set his eyes on her, he never doubted that this marriage could be more than he ever imagined and never regretted any of his choices which is why he vowed to always protect her even if he will never admit that to her.

“What more do you want from me? you wanted a response now you've gotten one, what's the big deal”

“ The fact is you did not even think it through and you just responded”

“ you don't get it do you? I can't leave you here, I can't bear it if anything happens to you what if they come for you?”

“ what if who comes for me?”

“The one who tried to kill me, enemies are encroaching and I cannot bear to risk Everything by leaving you here and returning back home, but I am needed”

Hannah already had that feeling that since he was the Alpha, he would have responsibilities to his Pack and someday he will want to leave but then she made up her mind to go with him before he came about with the destined attraction Bond between them, that was something that she was not prepared for her so she had to refuse. she knew he was not lying, Shawn will choose to rather not speak up than to lie to her and he has never lie to her and was not going to start.

“You can go, I understand if you have a responsibility to your pack, I am not stopping you from going over there to help them, I am not stopping you from finding out the man who tried to kill you, I am not stopping you to do anything but I'm not going with you, I don't think I'm prepared for that, I won't go with you so don't ask me again”

Hannah knew she was only making that decision because of what he had said to her, that changed a lot, his words suddenly built up a bridge between them something she cannot just overlook.

“Well the thing is Hannah, I was not asking you what you wanted to do, I was only telling you what we're going to do”
