"I won't get scared" Her lips were firm.

Right there Shawn knew that it was inevitable and perhaps if he dodged this question, she was going to keep coming back every day, and if she knew anything about the fact that he was hiding something then rest assured that she was going to blow up and tell him that she knows all about the fact that he was hiding his secret from her.
