As the dawn broke, Nancy finished her morning routine and picked up her bag to head out.
Just as she opened her door, a figure darted into her sight. Startled, she stepped back, only for her hand to be grabbed the next moment.
"Vivi..."
Luna pulled her out of the room, peeking inside before cautiously closing the door.
"Why didn't you reply to my messages yesterday?"
Nancy, acting as if they were co-conspirators, led Luna to the elevators.
"I was with Charlie all day, so how could I reply? I didn't even dare to check my messages."
Luna cast a meaningful glance at Nancy. She couldn't believe Nancy still might be oblivious to the fact that Charlie knew the truth about her and Vivian.
With this thought, Luna shook her head, her expression filled with a mock despair.
"You really made a mess yesterday. Thankfully, Director Grant doesn't dare to offend Charlie. Otherwise, if Vivi lost her role, you'd be in a real jam."
Nancy just chuckled lightly.
At the elevator, Luna pressed the button and then looked at Nancy with a grave expression. "Nancy, you should know, if it weren't for me keeping Vivian in check yesterday, things could have ended badly for you."
"Thanks, Luna."
Nancy gently patted Luna's hand. Her bracelet brushed against Luna's wrist, prompting Luna to take a closer look.
"Oh, when did you get a bracelet?"
"Also, if you have any troubles, tell me. I'll help you!"
Nancy's eyes lit up with delight. She withdrew her hand from Luna's and instead, affectionately linked arms with her. "Luna, you're so good to me, even better than my own sister!"
Luna was somewhat taken aback, but thinking about the possible difficulties Nancy might have faced yesterday, she figured her comfort might just hit the sweet spot.
What Luna wanted was to establish a close relationship with Nancy, ideally a sister-like bond.
"Heh..." Luna laughed joyfully. "Of course, I should be good to you! How could I not when you're so young and often bullied?"
They chatted and laughed all the way as if they were long-lost friends with so much to catch up on.
Not until they reached the bustling set did the area suddenly fall silent. Their laughter came to a halt as they turned to see what was happening...
