Substitute Bride and Her Husband Who Disappeared novel Chapter 113

Following the party, Luna found herself heading back to her hotel alone. It was no surprise; Charlie wouldn’t let her in his car.

Her mind was filled with thoughts of Nancy, and Vivian had all but vanished from her considerations. Just as Luna was unlocking the door to her suite, the door next to hers swung open, and out rushed Vivian, looking like she had seen a ghost.

"Luna, Luna, help me!" Vivian pleaded.

Luna turned to see Vivian, hair disheveled, clothes in disarray, utter panic painted on her face. The sight was so shocking that Luna could barely speak.

"Vivi?"

Vivian looked up, her makeup smeared across her face. If not for her voice, Luna wouldn't have recognized her. Vivian choked back a sob before blurting out, "Alexander is a monster…"

"Hush!"

Luna hushed her, glanced around the empty hallway, and then quickly pulled Vivian into her room.

Sitting on the couch, Luna frowned at the sight of Vivian. "What the hell happened to you?"

Mentioning the incident brought Vivian to tears. "Alexander... he... he…”

She couldn't finish her sentence, but Luna could guess what had happened.

Alexander had dared to assault Vivian even knowing Charlie was around.

Luna didn’t share Vivian’s outrage. Instead, she stood up, parted Vivian’s hair and gasped at what she saw.

Vivian's neck and wrists were covered in bruises and marks.

"Vivi, how are you supposed to shoot in this state?"

The filming was set to start the next day, and while Vivian wasn't the lead actress, she still had significant screen time.

"You don't have a choice!"

Luna withdrew her hand, looking at Vivian with annoyance, "Look at yourself in the mirror. See what you look like!"

Her voice raised, "Do you want everyone to know about you and Alexander?"

"I... I..."

Vivian bit her lip until it turned white.

Luna could tell she was torn.

"Vivi, for your career, this is the only way," Luna said, her temper cooling. "We can't tell Director Grant you're sick and need a week off. Do you think he would wait for you?"
