Chapter 808 Goodbye, Ms. Mitchell
Timothy pursed his lips silently and put on an innocent look as he looked up. "Phillip left home two hours ago and you're worried about him. It's normal for our dad to worry about us.’
Timothy's right!" Janet raised her little hand and agreed with a smile, "But there's a difference between Daddy and Mr. Shea. Daddy will restrain his anger instead of giving us a hard time."
As expected, Edmund's countenance changed, but he couldn't argue with the two children. He just thought that they were an eyesore.
Even Lucia understood what the two children meant. She immediately lectured them, "Timothy, Janet, you're not allowed to judge Daddy and your elders in private.’
The children responded obediently and the car was filled with laughter again.
However, Timothy's words remind Lucia that if August saw Edmund, he might get angry and jealous again. Currer had given them much trouble. If Edmund was implicated, they would have a bad time. Her relationship with August had only just eased up. She didn't want anything to go wrong at this time. With this in mind, Lucia turned to look at Edmund and said softly, "Timothy's right. Just drop us off at the intersection."
"You don't have to walk an extra two minutes. Timothy and Janet are children. You don’t have to take their word seriously," Edmund teased on purpose.
Lucia, however, insisted on getting out of the car at the intersection. Edmund didn't want to push her too hard and had to stop as she said.
The children got out of the car together and as usual, Phillip opened his arms to Lucia for a hug.
With a tender look in her eyes, Lucia held Phillip carefully into her arms. "Be good and listen to your daddy. I'll take you to see the pretty lady another day, okay?"
Phillip seemed to like Sophie a lot. He nodded seriously with a smile and replied, "Okay".
Phillip rarely spoke. Many people had thought he was mute before Lucia appeared. When he spoke, Lucia turned to look at Edmund ecstatically. "Sophie's treatment is working. I hope you can give Phillip permission to continue the treatment."
Edmund was in a good mood when he saw that Lucia seemed to care about his answer, but he wasn't going to say yes straight away because he didn't want to disappoint Lucia and he could have more contact with her. "I don't know Ms. Capet very well, but I'll consider this." He took Phillip from Lucia and said softly, "Phillip, come home with me. Mommy is going back to her house today. We can come back to her tomorrow."
Phillip nodded first and then shook his head slowly.
Edmund gritted his teeth and tightened his arms slightly. A glint of fear passed across Phillip's face when he sensed it.
Edmund still said softly, "I know you don't want to be separated from Mommy, but we have to let her go back now or she'll hate you.
This time, Phillip nodded obediently at once.
Seeing that Phillip was used to the term "Mommy," Lucia frowned subconsciously and reminded Edmund seriously, "You should guide Phillip properly instead of letting him be." Before Edmund could explain, she added, "If Phillip accepts that I'm his mother, it will be much harder for him to accept anyone else."
Seems that Ms. Capet's treatment does work. Maybe Phillip will soon be able to live like a normal child..." Edmund said with glee deliberately. "I'll pay her double to treat Phillip."
He looked and sounded the same as before. Lucia thought she was overthinking it and that maybe she was really hallucinating. "Sophie is my friend. She'll be happy to help you.’
After deciding on a time for Phillip's next treatment, Edmund started the car. As the window slowly went up, he gritted his teeth, called his assistant, and said fiercely, "I want all the information on a pediatrician named Sophie
Capet." As soon as he hung up the phone, the engine roared, and the vehicle leaped forward.
August had eaten dinner in the office. As soon as he got home, he went straight into the study to continue his work.
The warm yellow light shone in every corner of the study and methodical breathing echoed in it. A thin figure was curled up on the soft sofa.
Lucia was still frowning worriedly in her sleep.
August reached for her forehead slowly, but he hesitated and finally just put the blanket over her.
Lucia was a light sleeper. She moaned and opened her eyes blearily, only to see August's angular face.
