Chapter 779 Everyone has a bottom line
At this moment, everything seemed to have an answer.
Why did they meet in the coffee shop downstairs of Cloud Technology? Why was Emma bribed by Cloud Technology?
Timothy and Janet got lost. Something was wrong with the studio. She was attacked maliciously on the Internet again and again.
The one who had been hiding behind the scenes and had anti-reconnaissance ability was Currer!!!
Lucia's eyes were awe-inspiring. Lucia glared at Currer, simmering with anger and asking, "You've been on the same line with Cloud Technology for a long time. You did all these."
"Ms. Mitchell, these are just your guesses. It's best not to talk nonsense about things without evidence." Currer spoke in a smug manner while putting on an unpleasant sinister smile. In every other way, Currer had admitted the fact; the only way she hadn't was by admitting it directly.
Lucia contracted her fingertips. She compulsively clenched her fist and spaced out her phrases for emphasis while gritting her teeth, "Currer, I can put up with anything, but I absolutely won't allow anyone to hurt my children."
Currer nodded, looked at Lucia provocatively, and asked, "If I have to do something to those two little bastards, what can you do with me?"
With these words falling, Lucia immediately raised her coffee cup and splashed the coffee directly on Currer’s face. The wet brown liquid immediately soaked Currer’s clothes.
There was no doubt that Currer could dodge it. Why didn't she dodge...
Lucia bit her lower lip tightly and couldn't figure out what Currer really meant for a moment.
Currer didn't even wipe the coffee stains on her body, allowing the sticky coffee to drip down her hair. She just looked at Lucia quietly. Instead of lessening, her tone became more provocative.
"Lucia, your weakness is exposed too quickly." She raised her eyebrows slightly, "How can a loser like you protect two children? If you were really capable, you wouldn't stand here and warn me."
Currer slowly stood up as she continued, "I just enjoy seeing you like this," she said, gazing directly into Lucia's flaming eyes. I'll force you to witness the suffering of two bastards. Then, it will be quite interesting to see how you respond."
Snap-
Without hesitation, Lucia stretched out a graceful hand and gave Currer’s sticky face a sharp slap.
"Currer, everyone has a bottom line. You should avoid doing anything that could lead to your own downfall. As she spoke, she pulled out a tissue, wiped the coffee liquid off her hand, and threw it unceremoniously at Currer.
Unexpectedly, Currer didn't dodge it. She gracefully sat back in her seat, and said in a cold voice, "I've finished what I have to say, so you can return now."
Before she knew it, Lucia's palms were sweating. She grabbed her handbag tightly and walked quickly out of the coffee shop. She wanted to dial the number of August but finally stuffed the phone back into her bag.
Somehow Lucia's mind quickly raced back to the time when August and Currer met in the coffee shop. She felt uneasy in her heart, despite the fact that she believed in August.
It wasn't until Lucia completely disappeared from sight that Currer pulled out a tissue to wipe the coffee on her cheeks and body. She raised her jaw and looked at the booth not far away, saying with a cold voice, "You can come out."
Then Jerrod got up from the booth and walked slowly over to her.
"Did you video the scene?”
Jerrod immediately nodded and asked, "I'll edit this video when I go back. Mr. Thomas senior will get the virtual mailbox at night. This video is expected to reach Mr. Adams tomorrow."
"All the children from Griffith Organization are like this. You made the decision yourself." August responded softly.
Lucia couldn't help but give August a glare and rasped out, "I don't regret my decision. Nothing is more important than the lives of Timothy and Janet."
At this point, Lucia couldn't help leaning toward August and asked, "Currer has been hiding in the dark for so long without being found. Why does she show up voluntarily this time?"
"Because some secrets can’t be concealed any longer, she can only make minor sacrifices to safeguard major interests in order to hide the more important truth."
As he responded in a detached manner, he reminded Lucia with composure, "after her identity is exposed, she will be more cautious. Don’t let down your guard."
Lucia nodded slowly with a frown, and her doubts deepened. She always felt that there was a very big net above her head, which encircled her and Currer. The one who manipulated might close the net at anytime.
"August, do you think there will be more powerful backers behind Currer..." She lowered her eyes and lost in thought, muttering to herself, "Who can provide Currer with this convenience? Is Paul really so capable?"
"Not Paul.” He responded in a cold voice, "If it was really him, I would be the target."
While the two were deep in thought simultaneously, the sound of knocking at the door sounded in the office. The secretary pushed the door open and looked at the two of them respectfully, "President, there's a young lady, Ms. Sullen outside looking for you, saying there's something you need to have a look at yourself."
Lucia and August looked at each other. Both of them wanted to know what tricks would Currer put on. Lucia quickly pointed to the door of the lounge in the office, stepped up her pace, and hid herself inside.
After August watched Lucia tiptoe into the lounge, he waved to the secretary to let Currer in, and the tender light in his eyes varnished.
The heels clattered from far to near, and then the office door was pushed open. Currer put on a grieved face while looking at August.
