Chapter 633 Stealing Them Away
A bad feeling instantly came to her. Her heart in her throat, she asked the cleaner, "They have checked out?
The cleaner said matter of tactly, "Since I was told the clean the room, they should have checked out."
Lucia felt cold all over and got overcome with fear. Did August find out about his relations with Timothy and Janet? Did he take the chance to hide them away? She was eaten away by
fear. While heading toward the elevator, she hastily took out her phone and prepared to call him when an unread message was seen. It was from August
"Tve brought Timothy Janet to the apartment Come over when you're done"
Het anxiety subsided a lot, but the uneasy feeling lingered. She took a deep breath, quickly got on the elevator, and pressed the button to the first floor All alone in the closed space,
she was suffering from the aftershock. Her children were her softest spot. She couldn't bear to hear any bad news or receive the slightest stimulation. What happened just now really
scared bet
When she came out of the elevator, her anxiety and panic turned into annoyance. She took out her phone and called August. The line soon got through. The deep voice of the man
CATTHE
"Hello"
She gnashed her teeth and spat, "August, you took Timothy and Janet away without my permission."
The man on the other end of the phone hadn't expected her to be so mad. After a while, he said, "I texted you."
Anger got the better of her, and she blurted out, "But I didn't give you permission. Do you know how anxious I was when I saw the empty room? Did you consider my feelings? August fell silent. After a while, he asked in a serious voice, "What are you worried about? Afraid that I will steal Timothy Janet away from you?"
His words struck a chord. Lucia's heart skipped a beat, and she realized her improper speech. If his suspicion was aroused, they would be in a terrible situation. She took a deep breath
and managed to calm down.
"What are you talking about? I'm afraid that something happened to them."
After a brief silence, August's amused voice came. "It's okay. We're at the apartment. Come and find us."
He then hung up the phone without waiting for her response. In the room, he sat by the window and looked outside. His eyes gradually dimmed. Lucia's reaction was really strange.
She was emotional and anxious, and her voice was tinged with fear. It was something he couldn't ignore.
His slender fingers drummed the table, and the wheel of his brain continue to spin till something sprang to mind. Zane was then called over.
The assistant came and asked, "Sir, how may be of service?"
"Where are Timothy and Janet?"
Zane reported truthfully, "Probably tired from playing, they are sleeping soundly in the room."
August whispered, "Go and..."
After hearing his instructions, Zane gaped at him and asked in surprise, "Sir, didn't you do it once before?
As calm as a cucumber, August said solemnly, "Just in case."
After Zane left, he took a deep breath. The doubts came back to his mind. When he thought of the divorce between Lucia and Paul, his curiosity got stronger. Some things should be
taken seriously In less than half an hour, Lucia arrived at the entrance of the neighborhood. The buildings looked both familiar and strange. She was a bit nostalgic
She used to live in the apartment for some time, and there was still a bit of attachment left. To her surprise, August hadn't sold it. Probably, he had gone back here once in a while.
Guided by her memories, she quickly found the building and got on the elevator. She came to the apartment and knocked on the door.
Soon, the door opened. Zane appeared in the doorway with a smile on his face. "Lucia, you're here!"
She was in no mood to exchange pleasantries with him. She couldn't rest her mind at ease until her children were found safe and sound.
Zane read her mind, let her in, and said, "The little ones are tired and having a nap,"
Lucia anxiously looked around. "Which room are they in?"
Zane then pointed in a direction. She immediately strode over. When she almost reached the room, she slowed down and lightly pushed the door open. The room was dim and quiet.
Timothy and Janet were curling up on the soft bed. Back to back, they were sleeping soundly like two little angels.
She finally rested her nund at ease. Just as she prepared to go over and sit on the edge of the bed, she spotted another person out of the corner of her eve. The soft light slanted in
through a gap in the closed curtains. August was sitting there by the window. In the dim light, she saw the glimmer in his eyes. Her lips parted, but she said nothing.
August unhurriedly wheeled himself over and whispered when he went past her, "You don't have to worry about them when they're in my care. I'll protect them no matter what
happens. "
His words sounded like an explanation and comfort Lucia listened and somehow tell reassured. Her anxiety slowly subsided. She turned around and watched him leave. After the door closed, she felt a surge of guilt.
She was wrong to give August attitude in their last few meetings. She had been impulsive and blamed him in retrospect, she found that he hadn't done anything wrong. Her taut
nerves relaxed. She turned back to look at the two kids on the bed until she subconsciously curled her lips. She was lucky to have them by her side. They had always been the cure to her unhappiness
She was relieved from the anxiety, but her eyelids started to feel heavy. She put her elbow on the edge of the bed, rested her head on her palm, and began to doze off Gradually, she felt like entering a chaotic world, Timothy and Janet were suddenly gone. She ran around to look for them but to no avail. Suddenly, a man threw bloody clothes at her. She looked over and found those were Timothy's and Janet's clothes.
She strained her voice to cry and went after the man who then turned around. A familiar face was seen. It was a member of the Adams family. The man was none other than that
vicious Bishop.
