Chapter 573 Paula Get Better

A dark expression flashed through Paul's eyes, but when Lucia turned around, Paul covered his emotions. He gently pinched her shoulders and said softly, "You've been working hard these days. Go back to your room and have a rest. I'll ask the maid to prepare something for you and the kids to eat."

Lucia felt warm in her heart. She smiled at him, moved by his tolerance and acceptance. Stepping forward, she gently hugged him and said, "Paul, thank you for your tolerance."

Paul was somewhat startled. He gently stroked her hair and said in a gentle voice, "It's fine as long as you know how good I am."

"I've always known about it," Lucia said, smiling at Paul.

As she spoke, she let go of him. The two of them looked at each other and smiled. Lucia carried her stuff upstairs.

Paul turned back and watched the woman's back, his expression gradually turning cold. He always thought that Lucia had given up on finding the traitor, but he never expected that she would clutch at the idea. In fact, it was he who had revealed her whereabouts to Bishop, and caused the incident after that, including the death of Mr. Makoto in the Evergreen Meditation Yard.

He was the person that Lucia had wanted to capture from the very beginning. But how could he let her know that? If she learned the truth, then all of his efforts and wait would have been in vain. Therefore, he could only choose a scapegoat to end it.

Paul took out his phone and sent a message to Archie, "It's time to use the person I asked you to bribe before."

After sending the message, Paul deleted all relevant information without hesitation. He put away his phone, and suddenly, the three children ran through the hall. They were playing cat-and-mouse games, and the room. was full of their screaming and laughing.

"Dad! Save me!" Timothy ran to Paul screaming. Garnett and Janet ran after him, laughing loudly. Paul smiled, bent down and picked Timothy up in one hand, and held him up high, "so you won't get caught." Janet and Timothy began to laugh as well. This scene seemed to be very harmonious. However, Paul was clearly aware that he hates doing that. Janet, Timothy, and Garnett, these people had nothing to do with him. The only reason for him to accept them was to keep Lucia around. As he planned, in order to provide a better situation for the kids, Lucia registered marriage with him. But no matter what a happy family it looked like, Lucia and he were not a real couple. However, after five or six years of tolerance, nowadays, he no longer wanted to simply give, he wanted to be with Lucia like a real couple, wanted to have their own children with her, not like this....

He put down Timothy and let the three children play by themselves. His eyes grew colder and colder. Sooner or later, he would definitely obtain Lucia, body, and heart. Only then would the time he had spent on her be mean.

An hour later, Lucia came down from the bedroom upstairs. She had just taken a shower and her hair was fragrant. With her porcelain white skin and smiling eyes, she looked like a 20-year-old college student. Paul was on the phone when he saw her coming down the stairs in a white dress. He was slightly surprised, quickly said something on the phone then hung up.

Lucia walked to the half-open kitchen and poured herself a glass of lemon water. She then looked at Paul and asked, "Where are the kids? Aren't they downstairs?"

"They went to the children's room to play puzzles."

Paul stood up and walked over to her. He gently hugged her from behind and leaned closer to her ear. His lips. touched her earlobe as he whispered, "You're so beautiful."

The man's sudden praise made Lucia's body stiffen. She had goosebumps all over her body and gently broke free from his embrace. She asked casually, "By the way, didn't you say that you have good news? I forgot to ask. just now. What is it?"

Paul saw her react, and a trace of gloom flashed through his eyes. He paused for a moment and then said softly,

"Paula has completely recovered and she should be able to return in a few days."

"What?" Lucia was in disbelief and surprised. Stunning for a few seconds, she laughed in surprise, "Is it true?

the scenery outside with wide-open eyes. Beside her, Burton was looking at her with a smile.

Paula sighed as she looked outside. "Who would have thought that after all this time, this was the first time

I've come out to walk around this town? Oh, right, Burton, I heard that there's a wishing pool up ahead. Later we could..."

As she spoke, she turned around to look at Burton, and she just happened to see him staring at her. She instantly stopped talking and was flushed. Paula stammered, "You... Why are you looking at me!"

Burton replied with a smile, "Because you're pretty."

Paula's cheeks turned completely red with his words. A blush extended to her ears, making her even more charming. Burton gently held her hand. In a soft voice, he said, "Paula, I wish time would stop at this moment and I could be with you forever."

Paula's eyes sparkled like stars. She was both shy and happy. She sank into this sweet moment and couldn't say anything. In the past, when she was with Burton, she had always felt that he was like a block of wood that didn't understand to show his feelings. He was distant, cold, and serious. She had never imagined that he would be able to say such sweet words. Just when she didn't know how to reply, cheers suddenly came from outside the bus. She turned her head and saw hundreds of colorful balloons flying into the sky. Paula gaped in astonishment, but then she heard a series of exclamations from within the car. She turned around and saw Burton get down on one knee, and took out a small box from his pocket. Burton opened it, she saw a beautiful ring placed at the center of the flower.

The man was smiling, her fear reflected in his eyes. He said in a gentle voice, "Paula, will you marry me?"

Paula was both surprised and delighted. As the crowd heckled around her, she nodded gently with sweetness in her heart. This was the day she had been looking forward to, but she didn't expect it to come so soon.
