Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 87

Hayley took a quick pace to come in her way.

Nell frowned.

“Yes?”

“You have the balls to ask me? Tell me! What did you do to Sister Celine that she ended up like this!”

Oliver had promised that he would announce the results of the competition to the public to clear her name.

However, the doctor had advised against overwhelming Celine in her current state. Otherwise, her life might be in danger.

Nell could not care less whether she was dead or alive, but she did not want a murder charge on her record. Hence, she agreed to have the announcement postponed to a later date.

It was the reason why Hayley was still in the dark of the truth.

All she knew was that Nell was the cause of Celine’s ill predicament.

One glance at Nell and Hayley just hated her guts.

Nell faintly smiled.

The look she gave Hayley was as though she was staring at someone with mental disabilities.

“Hayley Morton, don’t you know? Idiocy is also a sickness. You need to seek treatment!”

Hayley blew her top. “Nell Jennings! Are you saying I’m sick in the head?”

Nell helplessly shook her head. “I guess you must be sick in the head.”

Hayley was so riled up. The girl beside her immediately offered comfort. “Hayley, don’t be angry. It’s not worth your health.”

She then turned to Nell. “Nell Jennings, how can you say that about Hayley? Even if you despite Celine Jennings, you can’t take it out on Hayley! She is Jason’s sister after all. Don’t you think you’ve crossed the line?”

Nell merely threw a glance at her, without wasting any breath.

She could take on Hayley but she would not waste a single breath on an unknown passerby.

Thus, Nell turned a blind eye to her and crossed over them to get to the toilet.

Hayley hit the roof when Nell paid her no notice.

She grabbed Nell by the arm. “You can’t go!”

With a frown, Nell’s body acted before her mind and flung Hayley off.

Caught off guard, Hayley fell back two steps and gawped at her in surprise.

The girl hurried forward to prop her.

“Hayley, are you okay?”

Snapping out of a trance, Hayley shook her head. “I’m okay.”

Just then, a voice was heard coming from behind them.

“What’s going on? What happened here?”

Nell halted her footsteps.

She turned around and saw Jason taking strides over from the other end of the corridor.

Jason’s pupils shrunk at the sight of Nell. His eyes read complexity.

“Nell Jennings, why are you here?”

Nell let out a faint smile.

“Is this hotel yours? If someone whose fiancée is a hospital bed can be here, why can’t I be here?”

Jason was choked by her outlash of sarcasm.

“That’s not what I mean.”

Having found her pillar of strength, Hayley immediately ran up to hold him by the arm. She tried to get in Jason’s good books. “Brother, you came at the right time. She got rough with me!”

Jason cast a glance at her.

“Just leave it! It’s good enough that you’re not pushing people around. I doubt she could even lay a finger on you.”

Jason may be overprotective of his kind, but he also had a great understanding of his sister’s character.

Hayley was overwhelmed with rage and grievance at the same time.

“Brother, it’s true. She pushed me!”

Although she had seen the true colors of this man, it was still six years worth of a relationship. There were times she had hoped he was not as bad as she thought.

However, she realized up to this point, there were things that even if she cast her mind away from, they still remained in existence.

With old dreams left shattered, no one would consider the feelings of the person that was once in their dreams.

They only showed interest in what was before their eyes because the present was solely the cause of concern and care.

Nell callously smiled. Refusing to be involved with him any longer, she turned to leave.

In that moment, Jason’s voice was heard behind her.

“Wait!”

Nell took a deep breath and stopped at her tracks.

“Anything else?”

Jason took a glance around with a suspicious look on his face.

“Are you here alone?”

“What’s it got to do with you?”

Jason scowled.

“I wanted to let you know out of good intentions. I don’t know how you get on with Gideon Leith but as far as I know, he has an engagement in the capital. He won’t marry you, don’t... demean yourself because of us.”

Nell smirked out of rage.

She turned back to meet Jason’s gaze. Her eyes spoke of biting sarcasm.

“Jason Morton, who gave you the confidence to think I’m demeaning myself?”

Jason furrowed his brows.

“Nell Jennings, don’t be stubborn. I know what kind of person you are. I’m not convinced that you can fall in love with someone else so soon after we broke up.

“I’ll admit that I let you down. I’ve compensated you the best I could. I heard that you sold the two companies. The money should be sufficient for you to have a worry-free life. You don’t have to rush to find another man...”

“Enough!”
