Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 719

Could he possibly stumble upon this place and rush here to try and save her?

Nell let her imagination run wild and felt her eyelids grow heavy. Before long, she fell into a deep sleep.

At the same time, the other side was not doing great either.

Inside the city.

Fengqiao Villa.

Gideon had not slept for a full two days.

He sat in front of the computer with bloodshot eyes, as he seemed to be remotely controlling something.

After two days and two nights, the normally handsome and well-kept face now had unshaven stubble, his eyes had sunk into its eye sockets due to sheer exhaustion, and his expression as empty as the Sahara.

Gideon’s phone rang and he picked it up. “How did it go? Any news?”

Matthew’s guilty voice came from the other end, “I’m deeply sorry, Mr. President. We’re still coming up empty.”

“Useless trash!”

Veins appeared on Gideon’s forehead as he howled angrily.

A moment passed and he stated, “Pack it up, I’m going to search with you!”

On the other line, Matthew was taken by surprise. “Mr. President, that-”

“Cut the cr*p!”

Gideon gave him no room to protest and hung up immediately after saying that.

After he hung up, he grabbed his coat and walked out.

When he got downstairs, Gideon noticed that Orchid and some of the other maids had brought Viemond and Lizzy to wait in the living room.

When the kids saw him come down, their eyes widened with hope as they watched him descend.

Nell was supposed to be back a few days ago but was nowhere to be found. They could not hide that fact.

Viemond was still young and probably did not understand what was happening, but Lizzy was not that naive anymore. She took a look at her father, who had not slept in two days, and knew something was wrong.

Her eyes were red as if she had cried earlier. Seeing Gideon come down, she sprinted towards him.

“Daddy!”

Lizzy leaped into her father’s embrace and clung onto his leg, asking, “Will mommy come back? Can mommy still come home?”

Gideon’s eyes were hollow.

He lifted Lizzy into his arms and comforted her, “She’ll come back okay? Mommy will be fine.”

“Really?”

“Really. Daddy promises.”

No matter where she was, he would bring her back even if it cost him his life.

Lizzy bit her lip, hesitant to believe him. Finally, she gave a solemn nod.

“Then I will wait for mommy at home.”

“Good girl.”

Gideon set her down and reassuringly patted Viemond’s head before turning back to Lizzy, “Take good care of your little brother okay? Daddy’s going to go out for a while. Listen to Orchid while I’m gone and don't run off okay?”

Lizzy solemnly nodded again.

With that, Gideon left the house in large strides.

Not long after he left, Old Master Leith and Old Madam Quinton came over.

Nell going missing was something everyone at Fengqiao Villa knew about, but since Old Master Leith and Old Madam Quinton did not stop by often, they did not know about the incident.

She waited for her to finish drinking and peered at the door before whispering in Nell’s ear very carefully, “I woke up very early, and took the opportunity to take a look outside before everyone woke up. The main door outside has been bolted shut. The window in the kitchen seemed to be loosely closed so I opened it to take a look. It’s all barren mountains outside, for us to just waltz out is going to be difficult.”

Nell nodded.

“Yes, I also noticed that before we arrived here.”

She pursed her lips and thought about it. “This is fine too. We haven’t figured out who the people chasing us on the plane were. We may be stuck here but at least we’ve temporarily escaped from the sight of those people. It isn’t great, but at least it’s slightly safer here."

Nancy thought about it and agreed.

“We just don't know if these people are human traffickers! If they really are then we have to be really careful.”

Nell smiled. “Don't be afraid, at the end of the day, human traffickers just want money. Compared to those assassins this is much easier to deal with.”

After giving it some thought it made sense, and Nancy was less anxious.

The duo put on their clothes and went downstairs after a short break.

Downstairs, Fred and his wife, Karen, had been awake for a long time. Karen was in the kitchen making breakfast while Fred lounged on a chair outside the house smoking.

Fred was turning sixty this year and was one of the elders in the village, so he was known as the village chief.

His wife, Karen, was rather submissive and generally listened to what he said.

Based on what Nancy had heard in the past two days, they had a son that worked in the neighboring town.

Despite calling it the neighboring town, it was still very far away. And since transportation was not easily accessible, one would need to ride an oxcart for a full day and a full night to reach.

It was so inconvenient that naturally, this son of theirs rarely came home.

These two old folks would just idle about in their house daily. If there was nothing to do then they’d head to the fields to work. They lived their lives peacefully.

Fred was regarded as a rather high-status person in the village, so most villagers would listen to him.

For instance, when Nancy got hurt, the village doctor was supposed to go to the neighboring village for a doctor’s visit, but because she was saved by Fred, the doctor came to treat her first.
