Yes, in Natalie's opinion, Lucy was the reason why there was such a cold war between her and Joel.
It was not because she was blunt and was caught saying something that her son used as leverage.
Rather, it was because of Lucy.
If it was not for this woman, if she had not seduced Joel until he became so obsessed that he had to marry her, all those things would not have followed.
As expected, there was no good woman in the entertainment industry!
Lucy had no idea what Natalie was thinking about at that point.
If she knew what Natalie was thinking, she would feel particularly wronged!
Lucy acted well, worked well, she never did any of those nefarious things, and she never resorted to crooked tactics just because she wanted to be on top.
How was that not a good thing?
Unfortunately, Lucy did not have the opportunity to say these words to Natalie.
Natalie’s lips curled into a smile as she snorted.
"Mrs. Katz, you’re such a sweet talker. No wonder the daughter you taught is so clever to charm men that they don’t even go back home anymore. Us regular people can't even hope to reach her standards."
Mama Katz frowned at Natalie’s enigmatic words.
She looked at Lucy, puzzled.
Lucy also had a bit of a headache.
She did not want to pick words with Natalie because if she won, their relationship would be worse, and if she lost, it would be even more suffocating.
Therefore, she signaled for Mama Katz not to say anything more, and then directly ended the topic.
"Aunty Foster, we still have some things to do, so we won't bother you here. We'll take our leave first."
After she said this, she pulled Mama Katz along and left.
Seeing Lucy’s attitude, Natalie’s complexion did not look too good.
She watched their silhouettes as they left the cafe. Then. she gritted her teeth in hatred and spat, "That little vixen!"
At that time, her distant niece, Wendy, who had been standing behind her without uttering a word the entire time, asked nicely, "Aunty, is that Second Cousin's girlfriend?"
Only then did Natalie remember that Wendy was still with her. She hurriedly explained, "Yes, it's that little vixen. Wendy, let me tell you, you should never learn these kinds of dirty tricks from this type of woman in the future. She’s not a good woman."
Wendy was still in high school, and this was the time to form her values and outlook on life.
Puzzled, she blinked her eyes curiously and said, "But I heard that her character’s excellent. Although there were always scandals involving her, they’re almost always initiated by the other male celebrities. She rarely initiates any scandal."
When Natalie heard this, her expression changed.
With a straight face, she said, "What do you know? You’re still so young. The industry is more complicated than you think."
Wendy still did not understand.
Even though she was still a student, she knew that one should not criticize someone without reason.
Besides, Wendy had seen the drama that this young lady had acted in.
Her acting skills were really good and the drama was interesting too.
Why did Aunty just not like her?
Wendy fell into a pool of confusion.
On the other hand.
After Lucy left the cafe with Mama Katz, she got into the car and decided not to wait for Joel to pick them up. Instead, she would go straight to his office to pick him up.
In the car, Mama Katz’s mood was somewhat complicated.
A look of concern was plastered across her face.
"Lulu, why didn't you tell me that Mrs. Foster doesn't agree with your marriage to Joel?"
She also told him not to rush as they were in no hurry. He should finish his work first before he comes down.
However, knowing that his wife and mother-in-law were downstairs, how could Joel still focus on work?
It was understandable to make his wife wait for a while.
Would it not be too insensible to ask his mother-in-law to wait along with his wife?
Therefore, Joel quickly finished his work at hand. He then instructed his employees to wait until tomorrow to deal with the rest of the unfinished work.
After that, he left work hurriedly.
When Joel arrived downstairs, he indeed saw Lucy's car parked there.
With a smile, he walked over. When he opened the car door, he saw them sitting inside.
Joel could not help but smile. "Have you been waiting long?"
Lucy originally thought that it would be at least another hour or so before he came down.
She did not expect him to show up after 10 minutes, so she was a little surprised.
"Are you done with work?"
Joel nodded and replied, "It's not very urgent, I can deal with it tomorrow."
"We've only just arrived. You don’t have to be in such a hurry."
Mama Katz was also a little embarrassed. She said, "Yeah, it's not good if we suddenly come over like this and disturb your work."
When Joel heard this, he shook his head.
"No, absolutely not. Hey, I'm different from those that scramble for work. Dealing with it a day earlier or a day later won’t really make any difference. As long as it's not urgent, I can do it anytime."
That was true.
Lucy understood the nature of his job and so she nodded along.
