Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 583

However, did Joel actually admit that this woman was his girlfriend?

This piece of news was like a bombshell and the group of women found it impossible to believe.

“Why are you standing there? Aren’t you going to kick these women out?” Joel yelled at Mr. Barnett, who was perspiring heavily. The latter then raised his voice at Shannon and the gang, “Didn’t you hear? This place has been bought by Second Young Master Foster. Get lost!”

Shannon and her relatives eyed each other dejectedly before walking away.

Mr. Barnett then smiled apologetically. “Second Young Master Foster, please look at the museum’s paperwork…”

“Take care of it immediately!”

“Yes! Yes! I’ll get someone to do it at once.”

Mr. Barnett made a phone call as he wiped the sweat away from his forehead. Lucy felt a bit bad, so she tugged at Joel’s sleeve and lowered her voice. “Joel, let’s not buy it.”

Joel threw a wan glance at her and pursed his lips.

“Joel…” Lucy called him again.

Joel remained quiet.

She had no choice but to use her ultimate trick. She cooed affectionately, “Joel…”

Indeed, the man’s lips twitched slightly and his expression softened. He whispered, “I told you that you’re my woman. How can I let those b*tches bully you? I have to make an example out of them, you understand?”

Make an example out of them?

Lucy froze. Was he trying to build up her reputation?

She was Joel’s girlfriend. If they stayed together, she would end up in the circles of other socialites one day. As such, he was concerned that she might get bullied, so he decided to build up her reputation now.

Lucy lowered her head and kept her mouth shut. A flurry of emotions overwhelmed her.

Sometimes… This man was not that detestable.

A museum employee brought the paperwork along and Mr. Barnett let Joel sign it. After that, Joel handed it to Lucy.

“Sign it!”

Lucy pressed her lips together, took the pen and signed her name.

Following that, Mr. Barnett signed his own name and stamped the document. Then, he handed over the transfer agreement.

“Miss Katz, this museum shall belong to you. What do you want to do with it now?”

Lucy looked at Joel.

There was no sign of emotion on the man’s face, as if he had decided to let Lucy take charge of this matter.

She gave it a thought and said, “Mr. Barnett, I heard that the reason for establishing this museum is to instill interest in technology among the youth and to support our nation’s technological development. In that case, let’s use this museum to its fullest and let it remain the way it is.

“I’ll keep the equity transfer agreement, but I hope you’ll take care of this museum, Mr. Barnett. All profits will still go to the technological research fund. Ultimately, just do whatever you have been doing.”

Wayne was a bit surprised. He eyed her gratefully.

“Yes, thank you, Miss Katz.”

Lucy smiled and turned to regard Joel. “Is this fine?”

Joel looked at her tenderly and caressed her head. “As long as you’re happy.”

The couple was sent off by Mr. Barnett.

It was already the evening. When the couple got into the car, Joel’s phone rang.

He glanced at it. Lucy could not see whose name it was on the phone screen.

She merely noticed the formation of a wrinkle between his brows and how annoyed he seemed.

Joel listened, then frowned.

He eyed her in an inscrutable manner.

“I’ll decide whether we’re a good match.”

Lucy frowned as well.

“But this will affect my future. I, too, have the right to decide.”

“Hmph! The right?”

He scoffed and leaned forward without warning.

The space in the car was limited. When he inched nearer, it felt as if the atmosphere had become even more oppressive.

Lucy realized how close his face was to hers and backed away instinctively until she was stuck in a corner.

The man’s huge body overshadowed hers as he placed a hand on the car door. He lowered his head and observed her, who was curled up on her seat.

His uppity, refined aura was like a gust of strong wind that whirled against her, making it hard to breathe.

Lucy’s heartbeat quickened in its pace. Her body went stiff and she moved her head away, avoiding eye contact with him.

She stammered, “What… What are you… Trying to do?”

Joel reached out and caught a lock of her hair. He toyed with it and mused.

“Nothing much, but look at how enchanting the moon is tonight. It really sets the mood, eh? Since we’re lovers, shouldn’t we be doing lover activities? We aren’t going to leave this beautiful scenery to waste, are we?”

Lucy was shocked.

She eyed him in disbelief.
