Celine believed this was impossible. Nell was indeed great in her performance, but the way she saw it, it was because she guided Nell into her role.

Instead, she cozied up to Gareth. “Director Leith, don’t just compliment my sister and forget about me.”

Finally taking notice of Celine, Gareth smiled. “Celine, you were great too. Huh? What happened to your face?”

Now that his attention was on her face, Celine let out a forced smile.

“Nothing. Sister slapped me earlier. It-it’s alright.”

Nell looked towards her and grinned. “Oh, I’m sorry. I was way too immersed in the role to hold back. You can’t deny that I managed to invoke stronger emotions in you. Don’t you agree, sister?”

She returned the same words Celine said to Lucy.

Celine’s face stiffened.

Gareth finally came to grips with the bleak atmosphere between the duo.

The exchange of words... He could smell the gunpowder in the air!

Nevertheless, they were biological sisters. Any personal vendetta had nothing to do with him as an outsider.

Hence, he smiled in an act of papering it over. “Nell is without experience for her first attempt in acting. Celine, please excuse her. It’s time to leave now that the audition is over. Nell, when will you bring her over to sign the contract?”

Nell beamed. “Anytime.”

“Let’s do it this afternoon then. I’ll give you a call later.”

“Okay.”

After fixing the appointment, Nell left with Lucy.

On the other end, a sense of doubt crept into Celine’s mind over Gareth’s over-enthusiasm.

Unsettled, she asked, “Director Leith, why did you ask my sister about the film? What are your thoughts on this?”

Gareth cast a glance at her.

Honestly speaking, Celine was indeed the only suitable candidate in the industry to play Ashley if Nell never made an appearance.

However, now it seemed that Celine made a good impression of Alison!

As opposed to the indifference and cool head of Ashley, Celine was better off playing Alison who looked weak on the outside but scheming on the inside.

Nonetheless, Gareth was not in the position to reveal many details as nothing was set in stone. He did not want to count his chickens before they hatched.

Thus, he let out a smile. “Nothing. Don’t read too much into it. Study the scripture at home when you have the time. Don’t just set your sights on one role. Observe the inner conflict of other roles, it’ll help you in the future.”

Celine misread his intention as studying other roles for the benefits of bringing her character to life.

Without a thought, she nodded in agreement.

Once everyone made their departure, Gareth went to Leith Corporation bringing his laptop along.

The biggest investor in this film was Anning International.

In other words, Gideon Leith.

Gideon was having his lunch when Gareth came looking for him with his laptop.

During times when he was swamped at work and had no visitors, Gideon would usually have Matthew order takeout and have lunch in his office.

Gareth arrived to see Gideon sitting on the sofa in his office, eating the takeout.

He walked over and smiled. “Uncle, are you eating?”

Gideon threw a glance at him before continuing with his meal.

“Is there anything to talk about?”

“There’s no rush, let’s talk after you’ve finished.”

Gideon was almost done but Gareth was a distant nephew after all. Although Gareth was older than him by almost twenty years, Gideon could not let him wait on an empty stomach.

Putting down his bowl and chopsticks, he wiped his mouth and said, “Clean up after you’re done. I’m going to take a break.”

With that, he walked into the break room.

Gareth immediately rose to his heels.

“Wa-wait a minute.”

Gideon turned back.

Gareth swallowed the food in his mouth in a rush. Without a care for the meal, he grabbed his laptop and trod over.

“Uncle, I’m here on business.”

Gideon frowned. “What’s wrong?”

“I want to change the actress!”

Gareth placed the laptop on a desk and played the scene he recorded in the morning. He then turned the screen towards Gideon.

“I swear, I’m really not trying to be fickle-minded. It’s just this actress is too superb! She has the skills and quite a beauty too! Most importantly, she’s a replica of the Ashley Watson in my mind!

“This actress has everything but a chance. If she’s signed on to Anning International and plays the female lead in this film, I can guarantee you she’ll rise to fame! She’ll definitely be the most valuable money tree under your leadership!”

Without a word, Gideon fixated his gaze on the screen.

A woman in black armor carried herself with a chilling presence. Her slick movements and resolute gaze made her come to life on screen. It created such an impact, pulling at the audience’s heartstrings!

The end of the recording saw the screen froze at the woman’s receding figure at the palace gate.

The sundown kindled on her lonesome but pine-like staunch figure. Taking her once ideals and lost family with her, she set on her path on becoming a ruler!

At the end of the video, Gareth gazed at Gideon with expectant eyes. “How was it?”
