Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 577

Of course, Gareth was not going to refuse. He nodded. “Yes, sure.”

Hence, the trio found a spot the same night to talk briefly about the project.

The conversation went on rather smoothly.

Gareth did not partake in this project on a whim.

He knew that Nell would have to bear the risk if she invested in this project and the fact that he was a relative of Gideon’s carried no weight in getting the investment.

Thus, he undertook this matter in good faith.

The trio chatted for over two hours before concluding.

Following an in-depth comprehension, Nell realized that the risk may be huge but it was an opportunity that was worth a shot.

Just as Gideon put it, if Anning International would not attempt a high investment and huge risk job, all the more other investors would never dabble in it.

Being the leader of the industry had its peaks but it also came with responsibilities to shoulder.

In the end, Nell gave the green light for the project proposed by Gareth.

Since she would be abroad dealing with other things the week after, she earmarked a portion of the money for him beforehand and would tender the rest once she returned.

This matter was agreed upon for the time being.

After the trio parted their ways, Nell went straight home.

Lizzy had been staying in Fengqiao Villa during this time.

Little Viemond was one year old. Although he was still young and walking unsteadily, Little Viemond had the makings of a devil spawn.

For example, he often messed up his father’s study and climbed onto Nell’s dressing table to scribble all over it.

Every time he was up to no good, he would always blabber on. No one understood what he was talking about.

One time, Little Viemond was doodling on the ground while smacking his lips.

Nell and Gideon were resting on that day. It was a rare moment for the whole family to cuddle at home and enjoy the long-awaited break.

Suddenly, they heard a soft and unclear voice.

“Da... Dada.”

Everyone was taken aback. Gideon, in particular, froze and looked at him in disbelief.

Still sitting on the ground, Little Viemond was immersed in playing with a paintbrush and unaware of the incredible deed he accomplished.

Gideon jumped out of the sofa and ran to scoop the kiddo up. He asked, “What did you call me?”

Little Viemond was less than a year old then and just a little under ten months. The child stared at him in a daze before bursting into giggles.

With his mouth drooling, he smacked his lips and cried, “Pa... Papa!”

Gideon was on cloud nine!

Although he was not new to fatherhood, it was his first experience to hear his young child’s first words with his own ears.

One could only imagine the emotions he was going through.

That night, Gideon was beside himself with joy that he had the maids prepare a banquet in the name of celebration.

Nell was sad when she found out about this.

She sprinted over to hold the child and tease him. “Little Viemond, since you’ve called him papa, what about Mama?”

However, Little Viemond gave her the cold shoulder.

Instead, he fixated on her breasts while his meaty little arm reached towards his line of vision.

She wondered if Lizzy had a biological mother, what would that woman be like?

Nell heard that Lizzy was developed through a test tube by Amy. Different from other test-tube babies, Lizzy was the first child in the world to be born of an artificial womb.

In other words, that woman contributed nothing but an egg.

Gideon suffered from severe mysophobia so there was no way he would allow another woman to carry his child in her womb or have a formed embryo to be planted in another woman’s body.

For this reason, Lizzy, having grown in an artificial womb, was not in the pink of health, compared to other children, in the first few years of her life.

Her health finally got better when she turned six.

Nell was suddenly overcome with a strange feeling.

It struck her that she never really reflected on one issue.

Why did Gideon choose to use that woman’s egg and birth a child with a congenital disorder then?

Judging by Lizzy’s age, Gideon was at most twenty-two or twenty-three years old then. He was not that advanced in age and could be said to be quite young.

By right, there was no rush to settle down, marry, and have children at such an age.

Just what sort of turning point and view did he experience which led him to have a child in an artificial way, even when it was impossible for him to have one with that woman naturally?

Was this because of love? Or something else...

Ever since this question popped into her head, it continued to linger in her mind.

Nevertheless, she dared not question Gideon.

She did not think it was necessary.

After all, the present stable and happy life was all she ever wanted. Those matters, regardless of the truth, were all in the past. Why look for trouble and open old wounds?
