Joel Foster took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from the second drawer of his bedside table.
After lighting the cigarette, he inhaled deeply.
He felt a bit nostalgic as he smelled the long-lost scent of tobacco.
Joel initially gave up smoking because of Lucy Katz, but now she was the one that made him smoke once again.
He was always a very persistent person.
There was nothing that he could not obtain in this world.
Joel was adamant that Lucy had feelings for him since they had sex.
He also saw the way she looked at him. It should be easy for them to be together.
Why was Lucy avoiding him again and again regarding their relationship?
Joel felt irritated once he thought about the incident at the bar earlier and having met that horrid woman.
He thought that he would have gotten some information from that woman.
Who knew all she wanted was to get in bed with him?
Joel quickly finished his cigarette.
It did not take long before the stick disappeared.
Nevertheless, this did not stop him from continuing.
Joel immediately took out another one from the packet.
He put it between his lips and lit it with a lighter.
His movements were adept.
Joel’s long fingers held the cigarette.
This man still looked very handsome even when he was smoking.
Why would such a man go through this lovelorn experience?
It was puzzling to others.
After smoking, Joel collapsed on his bed straightaway.
He felt more infuriated.
How did such a great thing turn into this messy situation?
Joel would not be mistaken.
That affection in Lucy’s eyes when she saw him was undeniable.
He simply could not understand why the former would show him this kind of feeling but somehow end up with Mace Smith.
Joel was a grown man. He went to look for Lucy alone because he was worried about her safety.
Subsequently, she had such a big accident.
In the end, he was the only one who helped her. She obviously felt it as she was the only one experiencing it.
However, once she got back, how could she go directly into the arms of another man in the blink of an eye?
This was too incredulous.
Currently, Joel did not feel that it was unbelievable, he just felt exasperated.
He wanted to interrogate Lucy right away.
Joel wanted to ask her what were her feelings for him and why he could not seem to figure it out.
During the day, he was thinking of asking her, but she was too emotional and kept wanting to run away from her feelings.
Right at that moment, Mace stormed in.
It made Joel feel like a third party and he felt jealous, so he just left.
It could not be that he was lacking compared to Mace.
Joel started off laying on his side.
Now, he lied flat on the bed and he prepared to think about this carefully.
He had completely forgotten that his motive was to sleep and forget about Lucy.
In reality, Joel’s persistence was keeping him awake.
He just could not calm down.
Joel wanted to figure out why Lucy treated him like this but was warm towards other men.
They were all men, but if one insisted, Joel was considered a level above others.
It was difficult to find fault in Joel because he was almost close to perfect.
Other women were willing to do anything to get in bed with him, that was why he could not understand Lucy.
In the end, Lucy was the only one who managed to sleep with Joel, yet why would she not want to go public with their relationship and wanted to hide it instead?
This would have been impossible If it was other women.
They would have been yearning for their relationship to be known.
Lucy Katz just had to be the woman that would not do this.
Joel, who was lying in bed, suddenly had his eyes wide open.
He felt the urge to resolve the problems that were keeping him awake.
Joel needed to ask Lucy personally.
Otherwise, he would not be able to sleep at all and would feel troubled.
Joel glanced out the window. If he guessed correctly, it should already be late at night.
