As soon as John finished speaking, he removed the towel around his waist and pounced on Chloe.

Chloe was woken up by the heat.

When she opened her eyes, she realized how painful her whole body felt. A crystal lamp hung above her head and emitted a soft, yellow glow. The intricate patterns danced around under the light and it stung her eyes.

Where was she?

She tried to think as she shifted her gaze slowly.

What she saw were grandeur and opulence. The vintage, British-style decor oozed majesty. The Picasso oil paintings on the wall were made up of striking colors and prominent strokes which gave her the illusion that she was trapped in a bizarre dreamland.

She must be dreaming!

She closed her eyes and wondered. She wished that she would keep dreaming and never wake up.

She refused to wake up and face the cruel reality.

After some time, she heard some light footsteps and shuddered.

The bed sank slightly and she could sense someone lifting the blanket and lying down. Soon, she detected a cool, masculine scent and an arm closed in on her slim, naked body.

“Ah!”

Chloe screamed and opened her eyes.

The arm underneath the blanket stopped moving.

Following that, she heard the man’s rich, baritone voice. “You awake?”

Chloe turned towards him and was surprised by what she saw.

What a handsome young man!

He had a pair of seductive eyes, a high nose bridge, an angular jaw, and thin lips. The way he was leaning against the pillow lazily made him look sexy as hell!

Gradually, her gaze shifted downwards as she looked at his wide, bare chest and taut abs…

“Ah!”

She screamed again and covered her head with the blanket.

“Who, who are you? Why aren’t you wearing pants?!”

John raised an eyebrow.

Then, he replied calmly, “Why are you so surprised? Are you still afraid of looking at such things?”

Chloe wanted to cry, but she could not do so.

It hurt, so she was not dreaming at all.

Did that mean that she was actually married?

Chloe found it extremely hard to believe. How could the marriage certificates be obtained when there was no household register and when she was not present during the registration of the marriage?
