Janet eventually felt less disheartened.

Gideon had gotten off work, and he heard that Nell was already home, so he went upstairs while he undid his tie.

She immediately ended the video call and turned around to glare at Gideon.

Gideon held back his laughter, then he placed his coat and tie on the chair beside him before he approached Nell.

“Dear, I didn’t think you’d miss me so much when I’m not at home.”

Nell pouted her lips and almost cried because she was too mad.

“Gideon, why didn’t you knock before you came in?”

Gideon raised his eyebrow in confusion. “This is my house, and we’re married, so there’s nothing I can’t see. Why should I knock?”

Nell. “...”

‘I’m so mad!

Nell was taken aback, and she finally noticed that she had unknowingly reached the side of the bed.

She knocked her leg into the edge, which hurt so much that she screamed. As her knees went weak, she fell backward onto the bed.

Gideon initially wanted to catch her, but Nell grabbed his collar when she panicked.

As a result, he lost his balance and fell onto the bed with her.

“Thud.” A soft sound was made as the two of them fell onto the bed. Before either of them could react to the situation, Nell widened her eyes because she felt something soft on her lips.
