Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 496

This was undoubtedly a fatal blow for Jada whose image was pure and innocent.

However, Joel did not care about it.

He had never been kind to women he did not care about.

If Jada did not overdo it just now, he might still overlook the matter due to her docile and well-behaved appearance before. However…

Did Jada think that he could be slapped by anyone easily?

He could tolerate Lucy because he loved her from the bottom of his heart and treated her as the only one.

Who did Jada think she was to behave like that? Did she think that she could get away with it after slapping him?

Joel felt so funny thinking of this.

What he did not know was that Lucy suddenly shuddered when she heard his words.

Looks like she was not the only woman…

Lucy’s eyes became dimmer, but she did not say anything.

She was in no position to care about this, and more importantly, she could not.

The situation was at a stalemate for a moment.

No one dared to come up to stop Joel, the four people involved also had nothing to say.

Outsiders did not dare to intervene because they feared angering Joel, while insiders did not take any action because they did not know what to say.

In the end, it was Joel who broke the silence.

He turned and smiled at Mace while adjusting his sleeves. “I’ll give you another chance. Give her up, and you’ll be able to enjoy a life of luxury. If you refuse to, I’ll drag the Smith family down with you.”

Both Lucy and Mace’s faces turned pale.

Lucy finally could not stand it any longer.

“Joel, why are you doing this to me? Just let me go.” Lucy bit her lower lip, she softened up after all. “Please let me go.”

Joel was shocked by the word “please” for a long time and could not return to his senses.

He and Lucy had been childhood friends for ten years, and he knew how strong-willed she was.

However, she was begging him to let her go and let her marry Mace.

Then, what position did he just put himself in?

“Was he that good?” Joel’s tone suddenly calmed a lot, so calm that it panicked Lucy.

Lucy denied it in her heart. She just did not want him to see her being miserable, so she nodded her head.

“Yes.” Lucy’s voice was very soft, so soft that she might not be heard if he was just a little farther away.

Joel had been waiting for Lucy’s answer. He was so eager to know her answer.

Nonetheless, he waited for such an answer.

Joel’s body stiffened.

He laughed suddenly. His laughter became louder and louder until it resounded throughout the venue.

The laughter made Lucy panic.

She was keen to walk up and hold him, telling him that she loved him, and did not want to marry Mace.

Lucy knew she could not do it. She could only hold Mace tightly in her arms without letting go.

Mace’s heart was full of guilt but was touched when he felt the tightening of Lucy’s arm.

He raised his head and looked at Lucy who was looking down. He could not see her face.

Mace only felt that he had never loved her this much as he was now.

“Lucy, I’ll be nice to you. I’ll certainly be nice to you.” Mace held her hand and solemnly promised.

Lucy smiled reluctantly without replying.

If possible, she did not want to marry Mace, nor did she want to treat Joel like this.

However, when Lucy thought of her adoptive father who was like a leech, she forced herself not to think about Joel.

He was too good for her, was he not?

However, it was limited to family love only.

Lucy still loved Joel the most. She could probably guess how deeply she hurt Joel today, thus, she could not help worrying about him.

Therefore, Lucy’s feelings for Joel were somewhat complicated.

As she wandered the street, she suddenly heard a car honking behind her.

She looked back at the vehicle and found a person sitting in the driver’s seat.

Lucy could not be more familiar with that person. It was none other than Joel; she was stunned.

She did not know what Joel was doing here at this time.

Lucy felt like she was in danger.

The feeling that she was in danger prompted her to suddenly move on and run faster regardless of her heels.

Nonetheless, she was still much slower than the car.

Joel caught up to Lucy after a while.

The car stopped beside Lucy.

Lucy did not continue running this time. She knew she could not run away.

“What are you going to do?!” Lucy looked at Joel calmly.

Joel got out of the car and walked toward Lucy while swaying uncertainly.

Lucy could smell the alcohol coming from him.

She frowned looking at Joel. “Are you drunk?”

Joel did not answer her question. He suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms. “Follow me.”

Lucy instantly felt a sense of fear.

She kicked and hit him desperately, trying to get away from him.

Alas, she did not succeed.
