Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 334

The maid’s footsteps could be heard from the room. Someone stopped at the door and asked softly, “Eldest Young Lady, are you alright?”

Janet froze.

The maid must have heard the commotion and got worried, so she came over.

Janet glared at the man and hinted at him to release her.

However, Liam pretended not to see her expression. He kept his hands on her waist and pressed against the door.

Janet could not do anything about him, thus she responded to the maid, “Everything’s fine.”

The maid was doubtful but she did not ask any more questions and left.

Once the maid was gone, Janet glared at Liam again and uttered harshly, “Aren’t you going to let me go?”

Liam regarded her with a calm expression. Instead of letting her go, he inched closer, narrowing the gap between them.

Janet’s heart palpitated as she felt a strong oppressive force. Instinctively, she moved her head backward.

Suddenly, Liam chuckled.

“Jan, you have me in mind.”

Janet trembled.

As if he was certain of this, Liam reached out to hold her chin and forced her to look at him. The harshness and resentment in his dark eyes had receded, but there was a new sort of emotion that Janet could not interpret.

“Do you know what I often wonder about all these years?”

Janet was in a daze. She remained silent and stared at him.

Liam caressed the skin on her chin and whispered, “I often wonder why you dumped me when you liked me so much back then. Did you mean what you said to me last time? You got together with me out of curiosity. A poor guy like me is out of your league, Eldest Young Lady Hancock…”

Memories of the past flooded her mind.

Five years ago, Janet was still very young. The youthful, restless girl fell for the cool, rugged Liam Jackman the first time she laid eyes on him.

Still, she was so young at that time. Despite liking him, it was difficult to confess her feelings.

The more she liked him, the more troubled she felt.

She loved him to bits, yet she had to constantly put on a nonchalant look.

Moreover, she was the eldest daughter of the Hancock family.

Her friends came from rich and elite families, and they belonged to the upper echelons of Jincheng.

Before the incident that befell Cathy, Nell was also a pampered child of the Jennings family.

Often, people loved to make comparisons within the elites. One day, someone asked her whether she was with a penniless guy and even jeered at her.

For some unknown reason, she simply blurted out that she was just fooling around and there was nothing to be surprised about!

The other party taunted her and said that she would marry a country bumpkin in the future and become a miserable shrew for the rest of her life. She panicked and said that she would never do so. She was the Eldest Young Lady of the Hancocks and she was not serious in her relationship with the country bumpkin, who was out of her league anyway.

She had never meant what she said.

She wanted to say that she was sure that the young man was not some random poor guy from the country.

Liam was at a race tournament. His expression was as cool as ever, but he seemed proud and dignified. He drove quickly and steadily, bagging the first prize.

When he got out of the car, he hugged a girl standing nearby.

His face radiated happiness and contentment. The scene was like a knife that pierced her eyes.

‘Look at how foolish you are!’

A surge of emotions overcame her. Regret for not confessing her feelings earlier, panic, anxiety, longing, and anguish… What she had assumed as love was merely an insignificant fling in the eyes of those around her.

She was on the side of the Atlantic Ocean. She imagined how hurt he must have felt when he overheard her remarks. In reality, he was in high spirits and had a beautiful woman by his side. He did not care about her words and never felt upset because of her.

In the end, she did not show herself and left feeling disappointed.

Over time, she buried this extraordinary love affair deep within her heart and never talked about it again.

The memories unfolded before Janet’s eyes and they took her on a journey to the bittersweet past. For one moment, when she gazed into the eyes of the man in front of her, it felt like she was staring in the eyes of the young man she was once together with.

Liam continued speaking.

His voice was deep and husky.

“Once, I gave up on you. I thought distance and time could change everything, including my infatuation and liking for you. I did it. For four years, it seemed as if I'd forgotten about you. I could date, flirt with, and sleep with other women.

“However, why is it that I always see your face during those crucial moments? Tell me, have you cast a spell on me? I couldn’t bring myself to fall in love with another woman. Even physical contact disgusts me. At one point, I f*cking questioned whether I was a normal man.

“In truth, your reappearance confirmed that I am. Jan, you know perfectly well that there’s a voice within me that helps me reject every other woman. Because of it, I never let you go and forgot about you. It belongs to you and now, do you still want it? Will you forget whatever misunderstandings that have taken place in the past, accept it once more, and love it again?”
