Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 283

In other words, he may have been able to force his way in to stay here but his meals were not of her concern.

It was up to himself to get fed and clothed.

Due to this, Janet thought that a certain somebody would blow up.

However, to her surprise, the man glanced at her faintly and said, “I’ve already dismissed the Filipino maid for you.”

Janet was dumbfounded.

“What?”

Liam frowned.

“Didn’t you hear me clearly?”

“No, who gave you the right to dismiss my Filipino maid?”

Liam let out a cold grin.

“Why shouldn’t I when she can help you escape?”

Janet had so much pent-up anger in her.

“I said I won’t run. Look at me, where can I run to?”

Liam ignored her. “You have no credibility whatsoever. I don’t trust you.”

Janet did not reply to him.

She gritted her teeth, barely able to contain her anger.

“Tell me then, with the maid gone, what will I be eating and drinking? Am I going to make my meals with this huge belly?”

Liam took a glance at her.

He seemed like he was contemplating something.

“It’s not undoable if you put your mind to it.”

“Liam Jackman!!”

Seeing as the woman was like an agitated kitten with its fur standing up, it put Liam in a better mood.

“Don’t worry, I was only fooling with you. Did you think I’m a cold-blooded person like you?”

With that, he clapped his hand and a blonde woman with baby blue eyes walked in with a smile.

“This is the new maid I hired for you. Oh, she used to be a confinement nurse so compared to your clumsy Filipino maid, she’s better suited for you.”

Liam had the new maid greet Janet.

The new maid was called Candy. Her looks were ordinary but she had a rather enthusiastic character, spurting a bunch of stuff of her expertise to Janet.

Janet was seething but it was not the time and place to blow off the steam. Regardless, Candy was innocent in this matter; it was not ideal to vent out on her. Hence, Janet nodded and complied.

Seeing that Janet had no opinion on the matter, Liam dismissed Candy to prepare a meal while he grabbed a book and sat on the sofa to read.

Enraged by Liam’s actions of making himself at home, Janet turned and returned to the bedroom.

In the afternoon, Nell was done with her break, ready for hair and makeup for the afternoon shoot when she received Janet’s call.

She was currently working on a series in an urban professional setting. The female lead was a senior executive in a headhunter company who was caught in a story between romance and career.

Nell had never acted in a drama revolving around the professional world, so to her, this was a challenge.

The moment Janet’s call came in, Nell raised her hand for the makeup artist to stop for a moment. She then got up and walked to a corner before picking up.

“Jan, what’s up?”

“Nell...”

On the other end, Janet tried to speak but simply could not find the words.

Nell frowned at her unusual tone and asked out of concern, “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

A brief moment later, she answered, “I’ll leave that for the next time. I’ll tell you if I have the chance.”

With that said, Nell knew that there must be an inside story between them. As it was not her place to dabble into Janet’s private affairs, she nodded.

After hanging up the call, Nell happened to see the temporary assistant who was hired by the crew walk in. The person mentioned that the director was urging and wanted the makeup artist to hurry up.

She then put away her phone and sat down for the makeup artist to work her magic.

Nell could be considered a professional artist now. Yet her involvement in the acting career was not fuelled by fame nor fortune, it was purely because the previous drama had her hooked on acting. Thus, she only accepted roles based on how great the scripts were instead of its value or theme.

Gideon let her be as she had taken a liking towards acting.

Due to special circumstances, Nell did not seek out a manager for herself. After all, she was a professional manager.

Since all resources would go through her anyway, it was unnecessary to hire one.

However, she needed an assistant. She had not thought about it before and hiring one after joining the shoot seemed like a rush.

Fortunately, Gareth had a well-acquainted and dependable friend to introduce to her.

Nevertheless, the girl was a university student. She could only help out during the term break and would be due to return to school after that.

Due to that, Nell was considering to screen one through the company. She wanted someone with a mature and reliable character.

Unexpectedly, she received a call from Hannah in no time. The latter informed her that a list of assistants was being prepared and sent to her mailbox. She wanted Nell to take a look and pick, if time permitted, before sending the name of the preferred candidate to her.

Nell was happy to find out that Hannah had already sorted it out for her.

She was most pleased to see the independent side of Hannah as Hannah had been managing all of Xinghui’s affairs presently. Although Nell oversaw the overall situation, there were many circumstances that she could not personally take care of and required Hannah to step in.

After the afternoon shoot, Nell clicked the mailbox app on her phone for a look.

Hannah had since sent a list of ten candidates and each of their resumes was written clearly.

With her finger scrolling through the screen, Nell read them carefully, one by one until she came across and paused on the last candidate.

The name on the resume was Kylie Dawn. The girl in the picture had delicate eyes, a clean-cut look with shoulder-length hair, and a faint smile like a ray of radiant sunshine.
