Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 261

Furthermore, to her, this child was the only memory of him!

Janet did not say this out loud. She merely smiled, her face radiating a tender and serene glow.

“I’ve considered it and I’ve decided to bring him to this world and raise him up. No matter what difficulties I face in the future, I’ll never regret the decision I made today. Besides, when the going gets tough, I still have you, don’t I? It isn’t so easy to be a child’s godmother. Do you want to be our guardian angel?”

Nell was so pissed that she did not know what else to say.

She could not stop herself from rolling her eyes.

“Yes, yes, yes! I’ll be your guardian angel, but how are you going to explain this to Uncle Hancock? I heard you two had a huge argument before you moved out. He probably won’t allow you to give birth to this child.”

Janet was silent for a while.

Then, she said wanly, “I can’t compromise. If he refuses to forgive me, he’ll just have to pretend that he never had me for a daughter. After all… After all, I’ve never brought pride and honor to him.”

Her words were painful to Nell.

“Jan.”

Janet forced out a smile and lifted her head.

“I’m fine, no need to console me. I mean it, I’ve thought everything through during this time. Now, the most important thing for me is to care for my unborn child. The local environment isn’t that suitable. In spite of my decision, I don’t intend to let the outside world learn about this yet. So, I’ll leave the country within the next few days. If you want to visit me, you can fly overseas. Once everything is set in stone, I shall return.”

Nell found it hard to convey her sadness and disappointment.

However, since Janet had made up her mind, she had no other choice but to support her best friend.

She got up, sat opposite Janet and held the latter’s hands.

“Jan, no matter where you are, don’t ever forget that you still have me.”

Janet smiled and nodded.

Three days later, Janet left.

That day, Nell sent her off at the airport. She even passed her a phone number of an acquaintance she used to know in Country F. If there was an emergency, at least Janet had someone to contact.

Janet joked about how she sent Nell off five years ago, and now, she was the one being sent off by Nell. No matter how she looked at it, it felt like a reincarnation.

Nell smiled helplessly. Still, she could not bear that Janet was leaving her, even though they could still meet in Country F.

Then again, it was not as convenient as meeting up in Jincheng. Aside from that, Janet was reluctant about telling her secret, which worried Nell.

Nonetheless, Nell did not reveal her thoughts. After sending Janet off, she returned to the company.

Gideon had gone to the capital city for two days to send Old Madam and Lizzy back.

Lizzy was not well and had to attend regular check-ups. Each time, Gideon would accompany her.

Nell wanted to go with them too, but the case about Cathy in Jincheng required her constant support. She could not leave, so she could only go there next time.

Gareth and Eric were very happy when they learned about her safe return.

Earlier, they did not believe what Celine said. Now, their beliefs were proven to be correct. However, when they heard about what happened to Nell’s mother, they felt melancholic.

Still, despite feeling upset about this matter, they had to get back to business.

That night, Gareth organized a gathering at Xianshui Pavilion and invited Nell.

The attendees were big shots and seasoned folks from the entertainment industry. As it was a private party, not many people were invited and it was not exactly a work-related event.

As Nell belonged to this circle, socializing with these people was unavoidable.

It was nice of Gareth to plan this event and invite her. Naturally, she should not dismiss his kindness.

By 8:00 pm, Xianshui Pavilion was already filled with guests dressed in glamorous outfits and bustling with noise.

Gideon’s mood was instantly lifted when he heard her reply. He lowered his voice, “I’ll be back tomorrow morning. Are you going to pick me up at the airport?”

Nell froze. She did not expect him to return so soon, hence she nodded and agreed to it.

Both of them chatted for a little longer before ending the call.

After hanging up, Nell allowed the breeze to cool her down. When she felt that she had recovered from her tipsiness, she turned around and prepared to leave.

However, when she lifted her head, she noticed a young man walking towards her.

“Simon? Why are you here?”

Simon had the usual air of nonchalance about him. He held up the wine glass in his hand.

“I decided to join in the fun. Sis-in-law, what are you doing here instead of accompanying my brother in the capital city?”

Nell grinned. “So you are allowed to socialize, but not me?”

Simon rubbed his nose. “It’s not like my brother is here. No reason for you to socialize.”

Dang, these two brothers shared the same thoughts. Family members thought alike, indeed!

Nell looked at the time and realized it was late, so she decided to excuse herself.

“Alright, I’m about to head inside. Don’t drink too much, ok?”

Simon nodded.

Then, Nell strode inside the private room.

At the same time, the door of the private room next door was pushed open and a heavily intoxicated man covering his mouth collapsed.

Nell had a fright. Annoyingly, the man fell when she passed by that private room and he crashed into her.
