She spoke righteously and made eye contact with two bodyguards where they immediately walked forward.
Before they got near, Nancy Murray led a few other bodyguards forward, shielding Nell behind them.
Time stopped for a while and then it erupted.
Nell looked at Sylvia and sneered. “What is it? Why are you trying to avoid the main issue here? Or do you think that you could say a few words to brush things off now that things have gotten to this stage?”
She held up the recording pen as she faced the media and camera, saying, “I can guarantee the authenticity of whatever is inside here. If you don’t believe it, I can hand it to the police to investigate and check if there were any alterations.”
Saying that, she handed the recording pen to a police officer.
Sylvia was on the verge of a nervous breakdown.
“Nell Jennings!”
Shaun panicked and dashed forward to snatch the recording pen but was blocked by a police officer.
“Mr. Jennings, this is important evidence, please do not move.”
Shaun became enraged and stared at Nell hatefully, saying, “Nell Jennings! You really look forward to seeing the Jennings family being destroyed? You’ll only be happy if all of us were dead?”
Nell thought it was funny.
“Mr. Jennings, didn’t you say all of you were innocent? If that’s the truth, why are you so nervous?
Let the police verify it. If it’s fake, won’t it prove your innocence?”
Shaun was instantly speechless.
Sylvia stared at her coldly as Nell returned the gaze calmly.
One of the reporters asked, “Ms. Jennings, about the kidnapping case, was it you who did it for revenge?”
“No.”
“What? No?”
There was a sudden commotion among the crowd.
After all, Celine said that Nell was not kidnapped and it was all a show to frame Celine.
Now, it was evident that Nell was fine.
Seeing everyone’s suspicious faces, Nell explained, “Previously, I was kidnapped but lady luck was on my side and I had a chance to escape.”
After finding out that the kidnapper was my younger sister, I dare not return home and coincidentally found out about the truth of my mother’s car accident.
So I collaborated with the police to put on this act. Although it was all forced by circumstances, I still want to apologize for all the troubles and distress.
At the same time, I hope everyone understands that as a daughter, I’m eager to know the truth about the death of my mother."
Another reporter asked, “Were you involved in the disappearance of Celine?”
Nell shook her head. “Nope.”
Everyone was surprised by that.
“You mean, you didn’t kidnap or imprison her?”
Nell nodded.
“I can swear in the name of my mother, that since I came to Tranquil Dwelling, I have not seen her. As for her disappearance, I have no idea who did it.
Since she has done so much wrong, she might have made some unknown enemies. If you all are interested to know, maybe you guys should investigate in this direction.”
Right after Nell spoke, everyone could not help looking at each other for a while.
“Wait a second!”
She walked forward and said, “Old Madam Jennings, you haven’t explained this recording! And you’re trying to leave?”
Sylvia’s face grew pale.
“I have already said that’s fake! We have never done such a thing before!”
“Uh...looks like you’re not going to admit it?”
“Why do I have to admit to something that I have never done?”
“Alright.”
Nell nodded, “Since you still refuse to admit then we’ll meet in court! Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance, or didn’t leave a way out for your Jennings family.”
Sylvia was enraged by her threats.
“Nell, don’t you forget that you’re a Jennings too!”
“I’m sorry for forgetting. In the past five years, I have clearly understood how you treated me and my memories have been buried in the grave with my mother! So, from now on, we’ll go our separate ways!”
Nell turned around to leave after saying, ignoring Sylvia.
Sylvia stared at her viciously as though it would leave two concaves in her back!
Celine still had that panicky expression as she said in a trembling voice, “Elder sister, do you really want to be so merciless? Grandma and dad doted on you last time, don’t you appreciate the old times?”
Nell laughed coldly.
“I have given you all a chance to come clean, aren’t you all the unappreciative ones? And now you’re saying that I’m merciless? Why don’t you think about how merciless you all were when you planned to kill my mother?”
