Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 249

The next day, Nell received a call from Hannah.

With Celine being taken away by the police causing such a stir, the Jennings family was already alerted.

They were also one step ahead of Jason in receiving the news last night. Only, they held their horses to observe what the Mortons would do.

To their dismay, not only did the father and son fail to bail Celine out but they even blamed it on Celine when the Jennings family came questioning at their door.

Thanks to Celine, there was unrest among the board of directors and senior executives. Even the Carslan endorsement that the Mortons had spent a huge sum on fell through. The Mortons had not gotten even with her about these matters.

It was good enough that they did not fuss about the details, so why should they be the ones to come up with a way to bail her?

Thomas even put out words saying that it would be great if Celine turned out okay but if she was incriminated, the Mortons would not take her side.

Needless to say, Jason and Celine must be divorced by then.

The Jennings hit the roof. Fuming, Sylvia smashed the teacup in front of her and pointed at Thomas but no words escaped her lips.

In the end, the Jennings family had no choice but to helplessly leave in the face of the Mortons’ ruthless fickleness.

No sooner had they departed from the Morton’s residence that they were onward to Xinghui.

Nell received the call from Hannah because the Jennings family was creating a ruckus in Xinghui.

The media were stalking outside and with many artists attached to Xinghui, it was not going to be good for the company or the artists if the racket continued.

Hence, Hannah had to sneak in a call to Nell to ask for help.

Nell gave it a thought before muttering, “Let her take the call.”

Hannah’s eyes widened in surprise.

“This... Are you sure? There are many reporters outside.”

“It’s okay. Just call her to a side. Remember, she has to be alone. Don’t give the phone to her if there’s a person extra.”

After giving it much thought, Hannah complied.

She summoned Sylvia to Nell’s office and locked the door behind them before handing her the phone.

“Take the call!”

Sylvia was in shock as it had never occurred to her that Nell would communicate with her. It seemed the huge commotion paid off.

Thinking that Nell was afraid of her, Sylvia took over the phone and went straight to the point. “You brat! I guess you’re not as fearless as you think! I thought you’d have a lot of backbone and won’t show up.”

On the other end of the line, Nell frowned.

She could not figure out why the old lady was still able to use a cocky tone to say something so ridiculous.

She scoffed.

“Old Madam Jennings, you don’t seem clear who has the upper hand right now and who’s the one at a disadvantage. This tone of voice... Is really pricking. Why don’t we chat another day?”

Sylvia’s chest tightened.

She seemed to finally realize that the phone call today did not come easy. This was an opportunity not to be missed.

Hence, she gathered herself and softened her tone. “Alright, let’s not talk about this. Tell me, why are you out to get Celine?

“Also, what does it take for you to make an appearance? We all know you weren’t missing. You went into hiding just to ruin our Celine!”

Nell’s face slightly stiffened while her gaze spelled of relentlessness.

Our Celine?

Ha! It was not long ago when she was their Nelly!

Memories of the past flooded in. It remained a mystery she could not unravel why Sylvia and Shaun used to be good to her. Three generations had lived together under one roof rather harmoniously.

Nevertheless, everyone changed the moment Celine and her mother showed up.

With her mother gone, Nell went from the most beloved granddaughter to the off-putting abandoned child.

Sylvia was greatly astonished.

Seeing Sylvia scared out of her wits, Hannah wondered what Nell had said to her that caused such a huge reaction.

Nevertheless, she sent Sylvia out without asking. Hannah then said, “That’s enough now. Ms. Leith isn’t around. I’m calling security if you continue to stir up trouble. It’s best if you leave soon! Don’t try our patience to the point of severing ties. It won’t do us good then.”

Shaun looked down upon Nell, so naturally, he thought the same of Hannah who worked for Nell.

He was about to run his mouth when he was stopped by Sylvia.

Sylvia was feeble. She pulled a long face as well.

Noticing the sour look on Sylvia’s face, Sally softly spoke, “Mom, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

Sylvia shook her head and took a glance at the media outside before faintly replying, “Let’s head back. We’ll talk when we’re home.”

The group finally left the building.

After she was certain that the group had left, Hannah gave Nell a call.

Nell informed her to pay no attention and made arrangements for work before cutting off.

The Jennings’ estate.

It was oddly quiet in the living room. Everyone sat there without saying a word.

Sylvia had relaid about the phone call as well as Nell’s request to everyone.

The atmosphere was eerily quiet for that very reason.

Tensing his facial muscles, Shaun sat there with bloodthirsty eyes shimmering in dimmed glow like a hound. There was unspoken malice in his eyes.

Sally clenched her fingers and uttered in a trembling voice, “We can’t give up on Celine no matter what. She’ll be done for if she ends up in jail. I can’t see her like that.”
