Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 236

Nell clung tightly onto her man and leaned her head on his shoulder.

As though he felt the reliance of her woman in his chest, the man held her waist tighter. He said strongly, “It’s okay, I’m here.”

“Mhmm.”

Nell nodded and said with her nasal voice, “I’m fine.”

How could she be fine? Unlike Gideon’s hands, which were covered in calluses due to all the machine operations throughout the years, her hands were soft and they were still bleeding.

She had never put her hands through violent exercise. Her hands were small and tender yet they had to cling on to her belt and climbed the steep cliff for quite the distance. All the injuries had badly damaged her fair hands.

If the pain did not numb her hands, she might not be able to hold it as long as she did.

Gideon knew what she had been through, hence the intense heartache.

The heartache hurt him so much that he did not even want to blame her for acting on her own and for her blind confidence.

Soon, the two of them arrived at the surface.

Nell could no longer hold on and passed out cold. Gideon untied the rope around her waist and bellowed, “Where’s the ambulance?!”

“It’s parked beside the road. Dr. Lambert is also inside.”

Right after that, Gideon carried Nell in his arms and strode to the ambulance at the side of the road.

Nell had no idea how long she had passed out.

All she could remember was a man with a heavy British accent tended to her wounds and even spoke a few words of broken Mandarin.

She found her body in a warm embrace. The familiar scent and presence put her mind and body at rest. The pain on her body felt amplified and was seeping into her bones.

“Ugh,” she grunted.

Gideon hugged her tightly. He looked at Dr. Lambert coldly and said, “Did you not realize she’s in pain?”

Dr. Lambert helplessly shrugged. “I can’t give her painkillers yet. She’s been injected with some cyanide. Using the painkiller on her now will result in some bad after effect but if you don’t mind, I can give her some.”

“No!” the man bellowed his answer and hugged the woman tighter.

“Nelly, hold on, it’ll be over soon.”

The woman in his arms looked pale but when she heard his words, her lips shuddered for a moment and did not grunt in pain anymore.

Gideon reached out to her forehead and wiped the sweat away. Her pale and weak look amplified his heartache even more.

He wished he could take the pain away from her.

It was then his phone rang. He answered the phone and Nancy’s voice came through, “Sir, it’s Celine Jennings. She found out that madam has escaped and is searching for her as we speak.”

Gideon sneered. “Searching for Nelly? Who gave that wicked woman the right to abduct my woman?”

Nancy’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly said, “I know what to do.”

The call then ended. Dr. Lambert heard the conversation and was slightly frightened.

“Leith, calm down. I know those people disrespected your wife but you got her back now. Just get back at the woman responsible, don’t harm the innocent.”

Gideon looked at the doctor fiercely. “Innocent? Do you even know the abductor and her relationship with my wife?”

Dr. Lambert had limited knowledge of Nelly, so he asked instinctively, “What relationship?”

“It’s her sister.”

Dr. Lambert widened his blue eyes in shock, his jaw almost fell on the ground.

“Now, do you still believe her family is innocent?”

Dr. Lambert was silenced by the question.

She finally remembered that her hands were injured. She lifted her hands and saw them wrapped tightly in bandages as if they were the paws of a bear.

Her petite face looked slightly gloomy.

Suddenly, the door was opened.

A tall man appeared at the entrance and he looked gloomy when he saw her sitting up on the bed.

“Who gave you permission to simply move around?” His tone was as cold as it could get and he walked over with a grumpy look.

Nell was stunned by the fierce look. She felt a little guilty.

“I don’t mean to move around, I just want to sit up after sleeping for so long. My body feels stiff,” she explained.

The man looked better after listening to her explanation but he was still grumpy.

He looked at her tightly wrapped hands and scolded her, “If you want to sit up, press the bell and call for help. Why must you push yourself?”

Nell was silent. She looked at him with her big black eyes to vent her grievance.

Gideon called the doctor over for a quick inspection.

After the inspection, the doctor told him that she was fine. The cyanide that was injected into her had been cleared out of her system but it would take longer for her hands to recover.

Gideon was rest assured. After the doctor had left, he sat down beside the sickbed.

He reached out to her tightly wrapped hands and asked, “Does it still hurt?”

Nell felt wronged after he had scolded her so she sulked and shook her head quietly.

Gideon raised a brow when he noticed the reaction on her face. A faint delight flashed over his eyes but he feigned a strict look and said with a heavy tone, “You feel wronged?”

Nell was quiet but her petite face had “grievance” written all over it.

“If you felt wronged, what about me? Did you think about my feelings? I can deal with that woman with ease yet you fought her with your life. What if something happened to you? What should I do with myself then?”
