Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 168

Nell nodded and closed her eyes.

The two of them sat down at the peak of the mountain for a very long time but the meteor rain had yet to appear.

Nell snuggled into his lap and had his coat on her. Soon, she felt sleepy in the comfortable position.

The temperature dropped further as it got later. Even though she had his coat on, she still felt cold. She burrowed her face closer to his body for warmth and support.

Gideon looked at the woman on his lap deeply. His black eyes were fixated at her face, his strong fingers caressed her head and felt every strand of her hair. The urge of protecting her was overflowing in his heart.

Some time later, the night slowly turned white.

The first light tore through the darkness from the horizon and shed its brilliance on the quiet land. Nell woke up after a few taps on her shoulder.

The moment she opened her eyes, she saw Gideon’s handsome face before her. It was so beautiful that it looked like a sculpture and with the layer of morning glow on him, he looked like a deity.

She was awestruck by the beauty of his face. She happily squinted her eyes and pinched his cheeks. “It’s great to be able to wake up on the lap of a handsome man.”

Gideon did not stop her from pinching him as he allowed her to pinch however she liked. He then said, “The sun is up, let’s go.”

“Where’s the meteor rain? Did it happen last night?”

“No, maybe they got the information wrong.” Gideon stood up and helped her up.

“Huh?” Nell looked disappointed. It was then the numbness at her legs made her lose balance.

Gideon swiftly grabbed her. “Are you okay? Can’t feel your legs?”

“Yeah.” Nell nodded and bent over to tap on her numb legs.

Gideon saw what she did and quickly stopped her. He swiftly put on his coat and squatted in front of her.

“Get on.”

Nell was stunned. She saw her man’s broad back and it made her hesitate for a moment. “The road is steep, I can walk myself. Just give me some time to recover.”

“Get on,” Gideon repeated.

Nell puckered her lips and slowly crawled onto Gideon’s back. He carried her up and walked down the mountain.

The mountain path was steep and crooked. Dews covered the trees and plants along the way and a layer of mist blanketed everything within their sight.

The air was humid. Anyone who walked the mountain path would be filled with chilliness from the air.

Nell pushed away the branches sticking out from the trees along the mountain path and asked, “You didn’t sleep last night?”

Gideon grunted.

“You must be tired. Put me down, we can just walk slower.”

Gideon did not do as told. He continued walking forward and said in a heavy tone, “I’m not tired.”

He was afraid that she did not believe him, so he added, “I used to stay up all night when I’m busy at work.”

Since Gideon insisted, Nell did not argue with him anymore. She leaned on her man’s back quietly, allowing her heart to be filled with sweet happiness.

“Gideon Leith, when you’re old and weak, I’ll carry you instead. Wherever you want to go, I’ll carry you.”

Gideon chuckled at her childish words. He asked softly, “Are you sure you can carry me?”

“Of course! I might be small but I’m strong!”

“Okay fine, you’ll have to carry me when I’m old.”

“It’s a promise!”

“Yes, it’s a promise.”

Gideon smiled. He put the steak on the plate, garnished it, and told her to take them out.

At the balcony where the beautiful sea and spacious land were visible, there were two plates of steak and a bowl of salad on the round table. Gideon even added a bottle of red wine to the table.

A simple but exquisite dinner was served and they ate as the sun set over the horizon.

Nell cut the steak with the fork and knife vigorously but Gideon put his plate of steak, freshly cut, in front of her.

She smiled sweetly and forked a piece of meat into her mouth. The steak was nicely cooked. The medium rare meat was tender and juicy.

She chewed as she fixed her gaze at the man before her.

His movements were elegant as if he was a noble. Complemented by the sunset and vast sea, he looked like someone from the most beautiful painting in the world. It was intoxicating to look at.

Gideon raised a brow at her. “What’s wrong?”

Nell squinted her eyes and shook her head. “Nothing. It’s just that you’re so beautiful.”

The woman’s flattery made Gideon happy. He softly grinned and said proudly, “Of course I am.”

“You’re almost as handsome as Kayson.”

“Who’s Kayson?”

“A vocalist of a newly debuted European band. He’s a handsome man.”

Gideon immediately looked gloomy. He knocked her head with his hand and said, “You’re not allowed to be infatuated with other men.”

Nell chuckled as she rubbed her head. “Being infatuated with a handsome man is the least respect that you can show, do you get it?”

Gideon looked even gloomier.

Nell noticed the conversation was going south so she quickly said, “But I’m only infatuated with you and that’s enough for me.”
