Yvonne had worked her way up in the entertainment industry on her own merits. She didn’t want to be labeled as someone coasting on connections. So, even though many in their social circle knew about their relationship, it was very different from going public.
Bennett couldn't openly visit her on set, so he had his bodyguards deliver the snacks and fruit.
The bodyguards gave everything to Yvonne's assistant, who planned to give Yvonne her personal bag first and then distribute the rest.
However, before the assistant could clarify anything, Mignon had jumped in.
She must have recognized the Thompson family’s bodyguards and immediately assumed Bennett was there for her, to back her up.
She took it upon herself to distribute the food to the cast and crew, claiming it was all from her boyfriend.
As Yvonne finished explaining, Bennett looked as though he’d swallowed a fly—he couldn’t spit it out or swallow it down, just sit with the disgusting feeling.
Now, there was no room for them to even explain. Any attempt would only make things messier and drag Yvonne into an awkward rivalry.
“I can’t believe such a ridiculous mix-up happened,” Bennett said with a sigh, reaching out to stroke Yvonne’s head. “I’ll handle this.”
“Okay,” Yvonne nodded with a smile, showing her complete trust in him.
“You haven’t had dinner, have you? Go get your makeup off, and I’ll take you out,” he said.
Yvonne replied, “I usually skip dinner.”
Bennett smiled. “Make an exception for me?”
Yvonne’s own smile widened as she nodded and skipped cheerfully into the bathroom.
She stood at the vanity, using makeup remover and cotton pads to wipe away the heavy foundation, quickly revealing her smooth, clean face.
After washing her face, Yvonne took down her elaborate hairdo, removing the pins and ornaments. As she was combing through her hair, a tall figure suddenly appeared behind her in the mirror.
Bennett wrapped his arms around her from behind.
