[Arissa's POV]
"What do you mean by odd?" Ivan pushed, drawing me out of my head. "Are you still in pain? Do you need more blood? "
"Blood?" I sputtered, my eyes growing wide.
In the way of replying, Ivan pointed to the bite mark and new mate mark on his neck. Shit, had I done that?
"Who marked you?" I asked, trying to feign ignorance. "Why didn't I see it until now?"
I didn't know why, but the thought of having marked Ivan as mine sent a thrill and fear rushing through me.
A wolf's mark was their claim to their mate. It wasn't something to be taken lightly, and I was having a hard time processing the fact that he had allowed me to mark him.
"Do I look like a man whore?" Ivan asked in irritation.
I bit back my laughter. Did he really want me to answer that?
"Nevermind." He huffed, lifting me and setting me on the bed as he stood. "Anyway, this can be discussed later. Right now there is business to attend to. "
"Business?" I asked, perking up.
I felt as though I was newly energized and my being was screaming for revenge.
"What are we doing?" I pushed, trying to contain my adrenaline.
"We are doing some rat hunting." Ivan smirked.
"Oh, I like the sound of that! But can we make a move without proof? "
Elder Theodore was an elder after all. We had to be extra careful about how we went about this. One wrong move could ruin Ivan's reputation forever.
"Aren't you proof enough?" Ivan asked, leaning far enough to look into my eyes. "You are a witness to his treachery."
He had a point, but he was forgetting that I was a disgrace to my family and pack. Would others believe me over him?
"Did you forget I possess truth serum?" Ivan sighed, knocking his forehead against mine.
"Ow!" I hissed, beginning to rub the spot he hit. "What the hell?"
"It seems there still isn't much sense in that head." Ivan smirked.
"So you thought assaulting me would bring about some, old man?"
Gasping, I felt my eyes grow wide as a wicked smile began to creep across Ivan's lips.
"That's two punishments." He husked close to my ear, sending pleasure so strong it about took my breath away, rushing through me.
"Fuck." I growled, trying to stop myself from jumping him. "Stop doing that!"
Despite knowing that the situation was serious, I felt my core throb, begging for Ivan to do something with it. He really did know how to be a damn tease.
"If you keep that up, I will fuck you til you can’t stand."
"Sorry, sorry."
Although that sounded like a really good plan, I knew that taking care of Elder Theodore and Carina was the main priority.
"So, what’s the plan?" I asked, getting comfortable. "Please tell me it is going to be good."
"I am." Ivan smirked, fixing his darkening gaze on mine.
In that moment, I felt something in me stir. It was like another presence was there with me, and then there it was, the white wolf from before, and standing beside it was a large black wolf whose golden eyes glowed with pure joy.
‘Finally!’ The black wolf announced, realizing I noticed him. ‘It’s nice to finally meet you, mate.’
'What did you say?' I asked in confusion.
Had I heard the wolf right? Did he just call me mate? And how was it possible that he was here with me and my own wolf?
'He is our mate.' The white wolf purred. 'Also, my name is Rosario.'
'Rosario.' I repeated in amazement. 'And you?' I asked, looking at the black wolf.
"He is Bastian." Ivan said, startling me out of my head.
"Were you listening in again?" I asked, narrowing my gaze. "What did I tell you about doing that?"
"You were the one that let Bastian go there." Ivan countered ruefully. "I am always wherever Bastian is."
"Bastian..." I gasped, my eyes growing wide. "He is your wolf!"
"That's right." Ivan confirmed, nodding. "He is my wolf, and I'm assuming that Rosario is yours."
Uh oh, although he was trying hard to mask it, I could see anger flare in his eyes. With all that he did, I completely forgot that I had finally met my wolf and could possibly shift now.
"Oops, guess there's one thing I forgot to mention."
