Chapter 770
Baron said, “Fine. I’ll give you six months. If you still haven’t found a boyfriend after my wedding, you’ll have to go on some blind dates.
Vicki fell silent.
She pursed her lips but didn’t talk back.
“That’s a problem for future me. I’ll worry about it in six months,‘ Vicki told herself.
Just then, her phone buzzed again.
Vicki picked up her phone and stood
full.
heading back to my room.”
Baron watched her leave the dining room with a light st
deep in thought.
Once in her room, Vicki locked the door from the inside, her heart pounding in her chest.
She pressed a hand to her chest, taking a moment to steady herself before sitting down on the sofa and checking her phone.
Eddie had sent her another message. [Then let me wish you a happy New Year ahead of time.]
Vicki’s eyes lit up with a gentle smile.
She slowly and gently typed out the message. [Then I’ll wish you a happy New Year ahead of time, too.]
As she looked up, Vicki caught sight of her reflection in the huge floor–to–ceiling window–her face was full of joy.
She paused for a second, a little stunned.
‘Am I really this happy just from chatting with Eddie?‘ she thought to herself.
The answer was definitely affirmative.
She really was that happy.
Vicki hugged her phone to her chest, not wanting to dwell on
any further.
When Vicki ran into Eddie again, it was on the morning of New Year’s Day.
Baron had asked Rachel out, and since Vicki didn’t want to be a third wheel, she didn’t tag along.
She took her time getting ready, figuring that with all the festivities going on, she could just stroll around and see what was happening.
As Vicki stepped outside, she instinctively glanced over at Eddie’s villa next door, only to spot a tall and upright figure standing in the courtyard.
She stood there, stunned for a few seconds.
It wasn’t until Eddie called out to her that she snapped out of it.
“Happy New Year,” Eddie said, his handsome face lit up with a bright smile.

Chapter 770
After midnight, he’d headed straight for the airport and caught the earliest flight to Regalburg.
Even though he’d barely slept, Eddie still looked wide awake and full of life.
“Eddie,” Vicki called out as she walked up to Eddie’s villa, her steps unhurried. “You didn’t go back to Steerfall for New Year’s?”
Eddie smiled and admitted, “I spent New Year’s Eve in Steerfall last night, then took the earliest flight over.”
Vicki was a little stunned.
Eddie stepped out of the villa, a bright smile on his face as he look at her. “It’s the first day of the New Year, everything’s so festive. Want to
take a walk together?”
“Yeah, I’d like that,” Vicki agreed without a second thought.
She had to admit that she was genuinely surprised when she saw him.
Eddie, too, seemed delighted, a smile spreading across his lips.
The streets of Regalburg were lit up and festive, buzzing with excitement on the first day of the New Year. There were crowds everywhere, and the whole place was seriously packed.
Vicki kept getting pushed into Eddie by the sea of people.
