Chapter 595
Gavin stood completely stunned, never expecting Cameron to call him “brother.”
He even wondered if he’d misheard. The night Cameron returned, she’d called him “brother” once, but he’d foolishly ignored it. Thankfully, she was
calling him that now.
“Cam?” Jacqueline asked, beaming. “You’re accepting Gavin?”
Jacqueline wanted her children to get along, but when Gavin had upset Cameron, she’d naturally sided with her long–lost daughter. Now that Cameron accepted Gavin, she was overjoyed.
Levi, equally happy, teased, “Cam, you’re too soft–hearted. Look how poorly that brat treated you, and you forgave him so easily.”
Cameron smited. “Mom, Dad, Gavin’s been good to me. I actually accepted him as my brother a while ago.”
Gavin felt like he must have woken from a dream. Hearing Cameron say she’d already accepted him was a sudden surge of happiness that nearly made
him dizzy.
Overcome with excitement, he rushed forward and hugged Pearl before anyone–even the tiger–could react.
Pearl was knocked to the ground and let out a warning growl, eyeing Gavin fiercely.
The roar was deafening, but Gavin held on tight, shouting, “Cam, I did it! I did it!”
Cameron sighed, half–amused.
“Gavin!” Jacqueline’s legs went weak with fear. She couldn’t fathom why her son would take such a risk after Cameron had already forgiven him.
Levi commented, “You’ve got some guts, at least.”
Cameron pulled Gavin up. “Gavin, you scared Pearl.”
Pearl let out a pitiful whimper. If it hadn’t sensed Gavin’s connection to Cameron, it would have attacked before he even reached it.
Gavin smiled as Cameron helped him up. “Should I apologize to him?”
Cameron nodded.
Grinning at Pearl, Gavin said, “Sorry, Pearl. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Pearl flicked her tail, ignoring him.
Cameron knelt to rub Pearl’s head. “Pearl, we’re taking you home now. We’re going to a new place, and that’ll be your home from now on.”
Pearl nuzzled Cameron’s palm obediently. Wherever Cameron was, that was home.
After Cameron briefed the castle steward, the Yates family left with Pearl. Along the way, she briefly explained how she’d gotten Pearl.
At Viremont Global Law Firm, Bradley sat in his office, staring at the Silvermoss Castle security feed on his phone.
