Chapter 577
Gavin canted Cameron’s quilt while Lance followed behind with her smaller essentials kettle, bucket, washbasin, towel and whatnot.
Cameron walked ahead, completely empty handed, with both brothers trailing behind like her personal moving crew.
The campus entrance was packed with new students and their parents for registration, but the three of them still managed to stand out.
For one, they were all tall, and on top of that, ridiculously good–looking. Three striking “pretty boys” walking together were impossible to miss. They were turning heads everywhere they went.
“Cameron!” a voice called out.
Xander had parked outside the campus since early morning, basically staking out the entrance. The second he spotted Cameron, he opened his car door and hurried over.
He’d spent the whole ride over imagining how stunning she’d look, and he was sure she’d be dressed to impress.
But the moment he actually saw her, he felt a little disappointed. Cameron wore a gray T–shirt, off–white cropped pants, and plain white sneakers.
Her short hair and minimal effort gave off a clean, androgynous vibe. From a distance, she could easily be mistaken for a handsome guy.
She wasn’t even wearing a skirt. Seriously, she had no idea how gorgeous she would look in a dress.
He thought, ‘Is she really planning to keep this tomboy look the whole way through college?‘
As he rushed toward her, Xander noticed the two guys standing on either side of her.
Both were already sizing him up, but Gavin gave off that older–brother energy. He was straight–up scanning Xander like he had X–ray vision.
Xander, decked out in top–tier designer brands, wore limited–edition sneakers and a luxury watch on his right wrist that screamed money.
Gavin quickly caught on that this guy was clearly from a wealthy family.
Xander wondered, ‘Wait, what’s his relationship with Cam? Don’t tell me he’s her boyfriend?‘
Gavin’s face instantly turned solemn. He stared straight at Xander and asked, “Who are you?”
Xander immediately flashed a big smile at Gavin. “Hey, man. I’m Xander Murphy, Cameron’s roommate from high school.”
Noticing Gavin checking him out, Xander actually felt a little smug inside. He’d intentionally picked out this outfit today, just to show that he was wealthy in front of Cameron’s family.
The clothes and shoes were his usual style, but he wore the watch on purpose.
He liked sports, and wearing a watch was inconvenient, so he usually didn’t bother with one.
“Roommates?” Gavin stared at Xander, who was grinning like a clueless rich kid.
Gavin couldn’t believe they were roommates before this because Cameron was a girl.
Lance was just as shocked. “Wait, you’re saying you and Cam were roommates in high school?”
Xander nodded. “Yeah.”
Cameron had no words. The next second, she held her forehead and said, “Can you please stop making trouble for me?”
Xander looked aggrieved. “How am I making trouble for you?”
