Chapter 572
By evening, neon lights flickered along the street.
Bradley sat in a private room in the cafe, watching the hurried crowds outside through the window.
Sitting across Bradley, Samuel asked impatiently, “Who are you? What do you want with me?”
He was wearing a wrinkled black shirt, and the confidence that used to radiate from his face had all but disappeared. Now, he just looked tired and
beaten down.
Austin had stolen the Fraser family’s business through dirty tricks, leaving them broke.
Samuel had been forced to get a job just to keep food on the table for himself and his aging parents. There was no way he would let them work at their age.
Just two months ago, he was on top of the world. Now, he’d gotten a harsh taste of how brutal life could be.
Finally, Bradley looked at Samuel, sizing him up through his gold–rimmed glasses.
He didn’t bother with small talk and got straight to the point. “Samuel, do you want to get Fraser Group back?”
“What did you just say?” Samuel’s impatience vanished, replaced by shock. And beneath that shock, there was even a glimmer of hope.
Bradley said, “I think you should get Fraser Group back. It’s your and your father’s life’s work.”
It was like Samuel had finally found someone who understood him. He launched into a tirade, cursing Austin for being a bastard who stole everything from them.
Bradley just listened, smiling faintly as Samuel vented. It took a while before Samuel finally ran out of steam.
“I will get the company back sooner or later,” Samuel said with determination.
Bradley replied calmly, “I can help you.”
“You… want to help me?” Samuel stared at Bradley in shock.
Bradley smiled. “You can’t stand Austin? Same here.”
Samuel could tell right away that Bradley was no ordinary guy, and he trusted Bradley to help him.
After a beat, Samuel grinned. “So Austin’s our common enemy.”
Bradley nodded. “Pretty much.”
Samuel asked, “So, how are you going to help me?”
Bradley replied, “I can lend you money, however much you need. But you’ll have to pay interest for that.”
Samuel was shocked to his core.
Right now, he was like a stray dog. Everyone who used to flatter him was avoiding him like the plague, and borrowing money from them was off the table.
So, Bradley’s offer felt like a rope tossed in the middle of a snowstorm.
And Samuel knew it was only fair that he paid interest. After all, no one would offer help for free, especially when they barely knew each other.

Chapter 572
Seeing Samuel freeze, Bradley raised an eyebrow. “Samuel, you can get Fraser Group back, right?”
samuel nodded hard. “Of course”
To Samuel, Austin was nothing but a spoiled brat who got lucky with an inheritance and didn’t know the first thing about running a busin too green to go up against Samuel.
A week later, Bradley, as he’d hoped, saw the news that Fraser Group was back in the hands of Samuel and his father.
Bradley let out a cold chuckle. Samuel didn’t disappoint him, and it looked like Austin finally had a real problem on his hands.
With Samuel back in charge, there was no way he would let Austin off the hook. As for that huge inheritance Austin got in fazven, that was out of reach
now.
The only thing left for him to do now was to tuck his tail and flee to Yazven.
Bradley had wrapped this up without breaking a sweat. There was just a week left before college started, and it suddenly hit him that he hadn’t reached out to Cameron in a while.
He wondered how she was doing living with the
tes family.
He meant to send her a screenshot of the Fraser fa
latest drama, but accidentally hit the video call button and dialed her by mistake.
Meanwhile, Cameron had just woken up from her afternoon nap.
She was lounging against the headboard in a camisole nightdress, still half–asleep, when her phone lit up with an incoming video call from Bradley.
She almost answered on reflex. But just as her finger was about to tap the screen, she remembered she was still in her nightdress.
This dress was only for the bedroom, and letting Bradley see her like this on video would be way too awkward.
Hence, Cameron had to put her phone down and head to the closet to change.
Ever since she’d come back to live with the Yates family, she’d been wearing women’s clothes at home, as everyone knew she was a girl.
However, Brad still didn’t know her secret.
Cameron hesitated momentarily, but in the end, she changed back into her old clothes–a white T–shirt and jeans.
By the time she finished changing, Bradley had already canceled the call. Cameron called him back immediately, and Bradley picked up in a second.
His handsome face showed up on her screen. Smiling, she greeted, “Brad.”
“Long time no see,” Bradley replied, a smile tugging at his lips as he looked her over through the screen. “You look great. Seems like things are going well with your family.”
Cameron smiled. “Yeah, it’s been really nice. They treat me really well.”
On her third day home, her parents had thrown her a massive welcome party. Even though the island felt a bit off the grid, it was like a little paradise of
its own.
Cameron had never felt so much love and happiness before. Everyone’s been wonderful–even Gavin, her eldest brother, whom she used to find a bit annoying.
Bradley chuckled. “College’s about to start. You haven’t seen Pearl in ages, have you?”

Cameron nodded, then suddenly remembered something. “Oh, Brad, can I bring Peart home will may*
She figured during school breaks, she’d be back on the island anyway. If she had Pearl staying at Yates Manor, she could still be with her family and have Pearl nearby.
Bradley hesitated before saying, “Of course.”
She wanted to bring Pearl home, but Bradley had bought the hillside villa so they could take care of Pearl together.
Bradley suddenly felt an emptiness settle in his chest, but he couldn’t even explain why it hit him so hard.
“Brad?” Cameron noticed the change in his mood. “You don’t want me to?”
Technically, Pearl was her pet, but if anyone had truly raised the little thing, it was Bradley. He’d spent more time with Pearl than she ever had.
Bradley smiled. “Pearl’s your pet. If you can keep him at home now, of course you should take him back.”
Cameron said, “Alright, I’ll come pick him up in a couple of days.”
Bradley let out a sigh. “Does that mean we won’t see each other as much anymore?”
Cameron looked confused. “We live in the same city.
an meet up anytime.”
College was way more relaxed than high school anyway, so it wouldn’t have been that hard for them to grab a bite together or hang out.
“True.” Bradley chuckled, then changed the topic. “Did you see the news?”
“You mean the one about the whole Fraser Group situation?” Cameron asked.
Even though the island was pretty cut off from the world, the internet still worked just fine. So, naturally, Cameron had seen it.
Fraser Group had gone through such a massive upheaval in just a few months that even people who usually didn’t follow business news were paying
attention.
Everyone was speculating about what had really happened behind the scenes.
Bradley nodded. “Yeah. Do you know why Fraser Group ended up back in Samuel’s hands so fast?”
Cameron caught the smile on his face and guessed, “Brad, did you have something to do with it?”
Bradley nodded. “Yeah, I was the one who gave Samuel the chance to make a comeback.”
“You? Why?” Cameron was puzzled.
Sure, Austin wasn’t great, but Samuel was even worse.
Bradley said, “I don’t even know how I pissed off Austin, but he tried to buy out my law firm and wanted to kick me out, so…”
He didn’t bother finishing the sentence, but Cameron got what he meant.
She thought, ‘How did Bradley end up offending Austin anyway? Maybe it’s all because of me. Austin was convinced I liked Bradley before, so is that why he went after Bradley?‘
Cameron had no idea how to describe what she was feeling at the moment. She just thought Austin was out of his mind.
Also, Cameron couldn’t bring herself to explain the situation to Bradley, so she said, “Don’t bother with him.”
“What’s up?” Bradley looked at her. “Weren’t you two pretty close? I thought you’d be mad at me.”
Chapter 572
Cameron shook her head. “We’re done. I already cut him off.”
Bradley looked a little surprised. “Cut him off?”
