“Millie, do you not find yourself hypocritical for lying to yourself over and over?” Winston grabbed Millie’s arm and fixed a sharp gaze on her. 

He refused to believe that the woman who was once loyal to him had now fallen in love with another man. His heart raced uncontrollably, perhaps from the bruised ego or the influence of alcohol. 

In contrast, Millie remained poised. She smiled tenderly. “Winston Greer, what exactly do you want?” 

He strengthened his grip on her arm. She maintained a smile. “Is it not your dream to finally let go of me?” 

He swallowed hard. The look in his eyes darkened.

However, he was confused by his frustration when Millie stopped caring about him. 

“Are you worried I might pester you like before?” she asked, meeting his eyes with a pained heart. 

Eyes flickering with mixed emotions, Winston was momentarily at a loss for words. His silence weighed heavily on her. 

Millie knew it. He was afraid that she’d cling to him. 

She shot him a knowing look and moved his hand away. “I’ll transfer the money to you by tomorrow morning.” 

Winston had nothing to worry about because she had resolved not to cling to him. 

After the conversation, Millie turned around and left without hesitation. 

The Caldwells had finished their dinner when Millie rejoined them in the private room. Later, she drove Thomas to the hotel. 

They sat in silence in the car. Thomas could tell from Millie’s reckless driving that she wasn’t in the best state of mind.

Thomas gave her a gentle hug. “It’s fine. He will regret losing you!” 

She thought wistfully, “No, he won’t.” 

Winston would be happy because he could finally marry Joanna after divorcing her. 

“Get some rest. I’m heading home,” Millie said, pushing Thomas away. 

Thomas grunted. “I’m meeting the producers tomorrow. Come and have some fun with me. I’ll introduce you to the people in the entertainment industry to clear your mind. How does that sound?” 

She nodded. “Sounds great.” 

The night after, Millie put on exquisite makeup and wore a limited–edition dress for the meetup. 

Thomas had hosted a huge gathering. More than ten guests scattered across the main hall. A long dining table for dinner later was placed in the middle of the hall. 

Millie elicited gasps from the guests when she appeared in a light pink dress. Her curly waves tumbled across her back. She strutted around in stilettos, which made her long legs look even more alluring.
