Lizzy already had a slight aversion to this restaurant, only wanting to quickly finish her meal and get down to business. She waved her hand, about to decline, but Rem had already put down his fork, asking for more details.
"Let's hear it."
"The event involves gentlemen peeling shrimp for the ladies. The quantity and quality of the peeled shrimp will be photographed and then posted on our restaurant's official website for live voting. The couple with the most votes after three days wins a grand prize. Just for participating, we'll also prepare a small gift for your lady today. Sir, our grand prize is truly exquisite; I guarantee your girlfriend will love it. Would you like to take on the challenge for her?"
After the waiter finished explaining, he looked at Rem with anticipation. Seeing such a handsome, distinguished man, even if they'd never have someone peel shrimp for them in their lifetime, watching him do it for his girlfriend was a treat.
"We don't need..."
Lizzy hadn't finished her sentence when Rem cut her off.
"Who says we don't need? The restaurant business is tough; don't knock their enthusiasm for hosting events."
Rem said to Lizzy, then instructed the waiter, "Could you bring us two more pairs of disposable gloves, please?" The man began to unfasten his watch, clearly ready to get serious about the task.
"Of course, sir," the waiter responded with a smile, immediately making arrangements.
Rem took off his disposable gloves and wiped his hands with a warm towel next to him. Seeing Lizzy staring blankly at the plate of shrimp, he personally picked one up and brought it to her lips. Lizzy unconsciously opened her mouth to bite, chewing under Rem's attentive gaze.
"It's delicious. You eat too; I can't finish all this by myself."
The waiter, standing nearby, said with a smile, "Madam, it's only fair to reciprocate. Why don't you feed your loved one as well, give him a bit of encouragement?"
Rem immediately looked hopeful. Lizzy was speechless again. She finally understood why the restaurant's little robots were called "matchmaker reds"; the whole place was full of little matchmakers.
