Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1330

Though entirely unsatisfied with her reaction, he had finally forced the confession out of his mouth. With a dark expression, he nodded firmly.

"Of course I'm serious. What the hell do you think I'm doing right now?"

Did she honestly think he had nothing better to do than orchestrate a pathetic coincidental meeting at a hospital?

She scrutinized his face, carefully dissecting his every expression.

Only after reading the undeniable sincerity in his gaze and the dark, frustrated tension in his striking brows did she finally realize he wasn't playing a sick prank; he actually wanted her back.

But knowing he was desperate to rekindle their romance brought her absolutely no joy.

Instead, a hollow, bitter ache washed over her. If only he had treated her with this much respect from the very beginning. If only he had claimed her properly back then.

If he had just told her that she meant something to him, that they were building a real future together, she would have been over the moon.

But too much time had passed since they walked away from each other. She had already bled out the worst of the heartbreak and forced herself to move on.

Now that he suddenly wanted her back, she had absolutely no desire to return to that toxic cycle.

She looked at him calmly, her voice entirely leveled out.

"Let me go first, and we can talk this out like adults."

Noticing she had retracted her claws, he mistakenly assumed she had accepted his proposal.

A faint smirk touched his lips, and he released his hold on her. During their violent struggle, the zipper on her athletic jacket had been completely torn open.

Beneath it, she wore nothing but a tight, strapless crop top. With her jacket slipping down her arms, a sweeping expanse of her bare shoulder, delicate collarbones, and deep, luminous cleavage was left entirely exposed.

She had a petite frame and a youthful, doll-like face, but her curves were undeniably lethal and perfectly proportioned.

In a heartbeat, his gaze locked onto the forbidden sight. Intoxicating, long-buried memories of their nights together flashed violently across his mind.

His breathing grew impossibly heavy, his eyes darkening with blatant hunger.
