Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1150

Chairman Porter's face shifted, his brow furrowing deeply.

"Liz, you've been away from this family for a long time. You don't understand the bond your grandfather and I share, which is why you're jumping to these wild conclusions. I don't know where you heard these absurd rumors, but they are entirely fabricated. Someone is actively trying to poison our ranks and tear this company apart! You can't afford to lack this kind of judgment, my dear. One day, you'll be running this empire. If you start aggressively turning on the loyal veterans who built this company alongside your grandfather, you'll break our hearts."

Chairman Porter was a master manipulator. As he delivered the speech, he didn't show a flicker of guilt. Instead, he looked deeply wounded and sincere.

It was a level of sociopathy few could achieve.

In just a few sentences, he had entirely flipped the script, making it look as though Lizetta was a naive, ungrateful child throwing a tantrum if she kept pushing the issue.

Lizetta smirked, unimpressed. "My grandfather was angered into a coma by your malicious rumors. It's only been a few days. Have you forgotten already? Believe me, I know exactly how destructive rumors can be. I'm not foolish enough to be manipulated by them."

Chairman Porter's expression darkened, adopting a look of righteous indignation.

"Lizetta, this is pure slander. How could my words have put him in a coma? It was your accident that broke his heart... But fine. I won't lower myself to arguing with a child."

He let out a heavy sigh, playing the exhausted elder refusing to engage with a disrespectful youth.

Eartha jumped in seamlessly. "Liz, you've got it all wrong. When you and Godfather had your accidents, we were devastated. Your father and I visited the hospital every single day. Even your Grandpa Porter came by constantly, praying for a full recovery. If you don't trust us, you should at least trust your own father. If we were truly plotting against you, he never would have stood by us."

She turned to Conrad, who had remained practically invisible until now.

He offered Lizetta a warm, paternal smile and nodded.
