It looked entirely like an accidental collision. More importantly, the man had been wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up and large headphones over his ears, his head lowered the entire time.
Because he kept his head down, none of the mall's security cameras from any angle managed to capture a clear shot of his face.
After the collision, the man appeared panicked and guilty, immediately darting down the adjacent staircase and slipping away.
Ultimately, the police simply stated they would continue searching for the man but classified the incident as an accidental injury.
The mall agreed to cover Stella's medical expenses, but why would Stella care about a paltry sum of money?
Once the police and mall representatives left, Stella sat in her wheelchair, screaming in frustration as she threw things and threw a massive tantrum.
The servant pushing her wheelchair didn't dare make a sound. When Martin West finally arrived, his expression darkened.
"Enough! I told you to visit the hospital, so why did you go shopping?! You're completely useless!"
Scolded by her father, Stella turned pale and instantly swallowed her anger, offering a hasty explanation.
"Dad, I made sure. Lizetta really isn't waking up. Even the nurses said so."
When she had left the hospital room earlier, she had passed the nurses' station and overheard two of them whispering.
"She's so young and beautiful, and she has such a devoted husband. It's absolutely tragic that she suffered brain damage and is essentially in a deep coma now."
"She was underwater for far too long. They barely managed to resuscitate her. As for her ever waking up... unless a miracle happens, the chances are slim."
Stella had been feeling a bit uneasy, convinced that something felt off when she pinched Lizetta. But hearing their conversation completely put her mind at ease.
"Are you absolutely certain?"
"Of course. Don't worry, Dad. There's no mistake. Lizetta looked like she was at death's door. Besides, if she were faking it, Remington would never let Ron stay in the hospital. Then I'd be able to visit the baby every day. Wouldn't he be terrified I'd figure it out?"
Martin found her logic sound. Seeing Stella's absolute certainty, he nodded.
