Tina smiled. "Of course. Any child raised by your side is bound to be wonderful."
Fiona glanced at her. "You always know how to flatter me. Lizetta is inherently kindhearted. She's perfect in every way!"
"Yes, yes, yes," Tina agreed, stepping forward to push open the door to the hospital room.
With a single glance, Fiona spotted Lizetta and the little baby lying face-to-face on the bed.
Lizetta was teaching little Ron how to crawl. Ron was kicking his short little legs and moving his limbs like a tiny turtle, his face flushed red from the effort as he stayed stubbornly in place. It was incredibly adorable.
Imitating Ron, Lizetta kicked her legs and gently touched her forehead against his.
Ron seemed to think it was a game. Every time their foreheads touched, he let out a bubbling giggle, kicking his legs and waving his arms wildly as he waited for Lizetta to bump heads with him again.
At the sound of the door opening, Lizetta turned her head. Seeing Fiona, she quickly tried to sit up.
Fiona smiled warmly. "It's alright, keep playing. It's quite entertaining for me to watch, too."
Lizetta smiled and sat up. "Come sit, Fiona. This is Ron. Ron, look who's here. Can you say hi to Fiona?"
She scooped Ron into her arms, taking his chubby little hand and waving it at the older woman.
Remington sat on the sofa. Though he wasn't joining in on the chaos, his gaze had been fixed on the woman and child on the bed, his eyes filled with a tender, focused light.
Seeing Fiona walk in, the man stood up to assist her.
Fiona didn't even spare him a glance, her eyes locked solely on Ron as she shoved Remington aside.
"You're in the way. Move over. I want a good look at the little guy."
Pushed aside, Remington watched as Fiona approached the bed, leaning over slightly to greet Ron.
