Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1035

Lizetta gave her a half-smile. "Right, right. As long as you're happy." Andrea felt like she had just punched a cotton ball, her chest tightening with frustration. Lizetta closed her eyes. "Drive slowly. I'm going to take a nap." Andrea was speechless. Conrad's residence in Zion City was on the opposite side of town from Maple Cottage, and they were driving right through the lunch rush hour. It took over an hour to arrive. Lizetta genuinely enjoyed a wonderful nap, so by the time they pulled up outside the villa, she was glowing with energy, while Andrea's face was dark as thunder. Ignoring Andrea's foul mood, Lizetta stretched comfortably and pushed the door open. "Your driving isn't that bad after all. I slept perfectly the whole way. Still, with such a long commute, it must be tough forcing yourself to drive this precious car to work every day. Thanks for your hard work." With that, Lizetta stepped out. A flash of pure hatred crossed Andrea's eyes. They entered the villa together. Inside, Eartha and Conrad were sitting on the sofa chatting, and surprisingly, two young men were sitting beside them. Seeing them enter, Eartha immediately stood up with a bright smile. "Liz, you're here! Come sit down, let me introduce you to someone." Lizetta scanned the room. It was obvious Conrad and Eartha hadn't just invited her over for a simple family lunch. Sitting opposite them were two young men in crisp suits with slicked-back hair—one in silver-gray and the other in casual light blue—exuding the aura of corporate elites. At Eartha's words, the two men stood up and looked at Lizetta. Without breaking her stride, Lizetta walked over and sat on the sofa, not giving them a single glance. She already had a pretty good idea of what this setup was all about. Eartha's polite smile remained flawless despite Lizetta's coldness, but Conrad's face darkened slightly. "Liz, your Aunt Eartha is talking to you. And our guests are still standing. How can you sit down first? Show some manners." Lizetta looked at him, the corner of her lips twitching up. "Guests? I was under the impression I was a guest here too." Conrad's brow furrowed deeper. "What kind of nonsense is that! Of course this is your home, you're just the one refusing to come back. Your Aunt Eartha and I had Andrea invite you over, so why are you acting so hostile?!" Andrea stepped forward. "Liz, if you hate me and don't want to see me in this house, I can leave right now. Don't misunderstand Dad; he hopes for you to come home every single day." Eartha chimed in softly, "She's already sitting, it's fine. Liz must be tired from work, there's no need to get angry with her. We finally got her to come visit, and your scolding will just make her think we don't welcome her." Eartha nudged Conrad gently. Just as his expression began to soften, Lizetta spoke up airily, "Do you really want me to come back, Aunt Eartha?" Eartha froze for a second before looking at her. "Of course, Liz. You may not be my biological daughter, but neither is Andrea. I treat you both exactly the same." Lizetta smirked. "In that case, I assume you've prepared a room for me. I'll go upstairs to shower and change first." She stood up and headed for the stairs. Eartha's brow furrowed slightly as she hastily stepped forward and grabbed Lizetta's arm.
