Kaden knew the other party, out of envy, was purposely pouring cold water on him to make him uncomfortable that he had snagged such a good man for Everly.
He was only a potential grandson-in-law, and not one truly yet, and they were already seething with envy. If Sonny and Everly got married, would they not go mad with envy then?
“Who knows, Everly might have twins or triplets and have the kids all in one go,” Kaden replied.
The other party had no comeback. After a long moment of silence, he burst out laughing, “That’s true. You can dream about it, and maybe it’ll come true. Heading in for a meeting now, talk again soon.
“We’ll be waiting for Everly’s wedding bells and will definitely give her a fine gift then.”
The person hung up.
Kaden grumbled as he set down his phone, “Using a meeting as an excuse just because you can’t win an argument? I'm going in for a meeting too. You make me sound as if I've got nothing to do myself.”
Once Everly and Sonny got married, he definitely was going to give them a wedding that would astound Clearfield and make everyone envious.
They even said he was dreaming. Who set the rule that said he was not allowed to dream? So what if he was dreaming? He hoped Everly would have fraternal twins on the first go. That way she would not have to suffer two pregnancies, and the kids would have a companion growing up.
Maddie’s older brother and sister were fraternal twins, so the genes for having twins were already in her family. It was possible the propensity for having twins skipped a generation, and Everly had inherited it.
Those who called Everly were customers who congratulated her and Sonny on having a happily ever after, while the men, stunned by Everly’s beauty after seeing her all dressed up last night, tried to sound out if they still had a chance with her. Then, they pointed out all the ways Sonny was not suitable for Everly, which was pretty much them living in different cities and being super busy people.
There was no way Everly would marry and move there, and neither would Sonny become a househusband here in Clearfield, so they were not suitable.
Upon receiving these calls, Everly always replied coldly in the same manner, “That’s my personal business. I’ll handle it myself, and I don’t need anyone telling me what to do about it.”
