Austin felt that Dominic was truly worried sick over Isabella.
It was a simple business trip, yet Dominic harped on his instructions for Austin for fear he could not remember them.
He initially wanted Austin to take care of Isabella, but he must have changed his mind, considering that Austin and Isabella were both young and single.
Something could happen between them. He had to prevent Austin from getting ideas. It would be better to put Austin on cooking duty only and the bodyguards could look after Isabella instead.
To be honest, Austin was not thinking of doing anything.
After all, it had not been long since he started being by Isabella’s side. Even if he knew she was the lady chosen for him, he did not have feelings for her yet.
His focus was cooking. With Isabella’s feedback on his food, he could discover his weaknesses and improve his cooking skills.
Isabella had not been able to find a fault in any of his dishes so far. Austin had also noted the amount of ingredients, cooking duration, and outcome of every dish he made.
When he got older, he would sort and compile his notes into a few recipe books. They would be passed down to his children in the future.
It could also be given to his successor to spread the recipes he had spent a lifetime refining to the rest of the world.
Dominic had a good impression of Austin. Ms. Isabella was clever and not easily manipulated by the opposite gender while Austin was absorbed in cooking. He probably would not have any ulterior motives. With that in mind, Dominic felt slightly relieved.
Once they arrived at the manor, Dominic told Austin to return to his room to pack and wait till it was time to leave with Ms. Isabella.
After that, he reassigned the kitchen crew and positioned a chef from the main kitchen to serve Isabella’s family for a few days.
Being a private chef to the O’Connors came with great benefits. The stand-in chef was delighted even though the change was only temporary.
Therefore, Delphine would play poker during her free time. More importantly, she rarely lost.
The other ladies in the O’Connor family were unwilling to play poker with her as they would always end up losing a large amount of money.
Delphine had no choice but to look for other willing players.
“Mrs. O’Connor.”
Dominic entered.
“Are you heading out?”
Delphine replied in the affirmative. When she saw the person behind him, she asked, “You hired a new chef? Did Austin resign?”
