Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 3248

Laurence would turn four years old soon, yet his learning progress was faster than others. As expected, a child taught by the masters was special.

If one did not have natural talent and wit, he or she could never keep up with the masters’ teaching.

Of course, the masters would refuse to teach someone who did not have talent.

Laurence answered seriously, “The books in my bag are gifts from the grandpas and grandmas for the new year. I like them a lot.”

He put a lot of emphasis on the last sentence.

Jane dared bet that Laurence would have the urge to throw his bag away once he opened it and saw it filled with books.

She knew he was under a lot of pressure.

Keeping up with a group of masters was difficult.

However, it was an opportunity that others could only dream of.

“Since I’m Sonny’s age, he’ll definitely like whatever I do. That’s why I want to give Sonny some books as well. He likes too many types of food. I can’t buy that much food for him.”

Jane said, “Are you sure it isn’t because you don’t want to spend that much money? Or do you wish to make Sonny suffer with you doing the workbooks?”

Laurence immediately blushed.

Mommy Jane was clever.

She completely saw through him.

Jane had no choice but to teach him a lesson.

“Laurence, you’re learning much more than your peers. The money you have is also an amount that many people can’t achieve in this lifetime. You can afford to buy many things with it. I’ll teach you about prices when we go shopping tomorrow.

“I’m not telling you to spend your entire fortune, but to prepare a present that your friend likes within your capacity and with utmost sincerity. Don’t regret it after buying the gift, okay?”

Laurence probably did not know how things were priced and thought buying a present would make him poor. In addition to the thought of earning money instilled by his mentor, he was afraid of using up all his money by simply spending a small sum.

“Were you happy when you received those workbooks as a present? You must’ve felt unhappy. If so, why do you want to make Sonny unhappy too?

“He may be your age, but your paths and the things you two learn are different. He might not be able to do the exercises or math questions that you can.”

Laurence looked toward Jane, who had squatted down to his eye level. He said, “I was wrong, Mommy Jane.”
