Sally blushed and said, “The York brothers are fine men. Their parents are open-minded too. Men of the Yorks are loyal to their wives. They have an excellent reputation.
“Who doesn’t like outstanding men? I started liking Callum after meeting him several times.”
Tasha admitted that Sally’s take on the York family was spot on.
She replied, “You’re free to like whoever you want, but Callum is married. You should give up.”
“I liked him first.”
Sally muttered, “Camryn simply had a headstart when I was deciding on how to confess.”
Tasha laughed. “Love isn’t first come, first served. It’s about fate. Two people who have known each other since childhood won’t end up married if they weren’t destined to be together.”
Elisa knew Zachary a few years earlier than Serenity, yet she failed to win his heart. On the other hand, Zachary and Serenity got married right away.
Zachary would rather marry a stranger than accept Elisa’s feelings.
Therefore, love did not work on a first-come, first-served basis; having known someone earlier did not entitle one dibs to another.
“I’ve never heard that you liked Callum. You never confessed or tried to approach him.”
Tasha used to work while keeping her identity hidden. While she rarely mingled with the high society, it was a different story for her mother. She often heard plenty of gossip from her mother.
However, she never heard anything about Sally.
“I always stay within Callum’s sight whenever I see him during banquets.”
Tasha was speechless.
Tasha warned Sally because she was worried Sally would bully Camryn out of jealousy.
At the same time, she decided to keep a distance from Sally and cut off all contact with her.
Elisa was truly the best. She bore an honest and refreshing personality with correct views on life.
After giving the warning, Tasha turned to enter the main house.
She was not close to Camryn yet but would rather accompany her than stay with a person like Sally.
Sally pouted and muttered something under her breath as she watched Tasha leave.
She did not take Tasha’s warning to heart and simply went to chat with other elite daughters.
