“Alright. See you, Sonny. Have a safe trip.”
“See you, Aunt Ser.”
Duncan placed Sonny in the car. Sonny turned to wave goodbye to Serenity before turning to look at his father. He pursed his little mouth and said, “Bye, Dad.”
Hank smiled.
Duncan left with Sonny and the bodyguards in tow.
Meanwhile, Carrie took advantage of everyone’s lack of attention to slip away. Otherwise, her ruse would have been exposed.
Those who were here to pick their kids up only had to pass their guardian card to the teacher and the teacher would then escort the little ones out.
They did not have to wait very long.
If she waited here any longer and still did not receive her so-called sister-in-law, it would arouse Serenity’s suspicion.
Once Duncan’s car had vanished into the distance, Serenity returned to her car and quickly left the preschool.
Only Hank stood in place, looking extremely lonely.
He could feel his son was getting further away from him now.
Sometimes, he thought of restarting the fight for Sonny’s custody. After all, the kid would end up closer to whoever raised him.
Mr. and Mrs. Brown were in support of this too.
However, it remained just a moment of impulse.
He would calm down very quickly after that.
If he regained custody of Sonny, it would cause Sonny to lose a lot of things.
His world and his social circle were much too different from the circles Liberty was in now.
When the vases first appeared in his office, his employees could not help but glance at them constantly whenever they entered to give him a report.
Zachary used to hate having these sorts of things in his office, preferring minimalistic and elegant decor.
Ever since he got married though, he grew more and more tolerant.
When Serenity gave him flowers, he would place them in the vases to wordlessly show off the bright and dazzling flowers his wife had given him.
Serenity walked up to a vase. The flower placed in it was still very fresh and she leaned down to smell its fragrance.
Then, she looked at the bonsai. It was growing well.
Businessmen in Wiltspoon loved placing a bonsai in their offices, often even keeping a tank of goldfish as a good luck charm.
It was said that if the bonsai and goldfish were healthy, it would mean good fortune for their business.
Some would even go as far as to hire people to infiltrate their rival's company to ruin the other's bonsai with hot water. It was a simple form of sabotage to ruin the rival's good luck.
