Serenity and Zachary York novel Chapter 2948

Caroline was clueless about Darren’s feelings for her.

There was no need for her to know unless she revealed that she had fallen in love with him first. Only then would he expose a trickle of his love to show her that he felt the same.

The education Darren had received since he was young had made him unable to express his feelings. Therefore, he simply cared for Caroline secretly.

If she were to marry another man, he would sincerely wish for her happiness and remain by her side as a competent and trustworthy assistant.

When Caroline bore a child, he could even help take care of the child.

In this life, Darren belonged to Caroline; never leaving her until his time in the world was up.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

Caroline guessed it would be Adrian. She did not open the door for him but let him enter the ward himself.

Indeed, it was Adrian.

He had a bouquet and fruit basket in his hands. When he spotted Caroline and Darren in the guest area instead of the patient’s resting area, he asked, “Where’s Dad, Carol?”

She replied, “He’s resting inside. He might be asleep.”

Adrian nodded at Darren as a greeting before going to the patient’s bed with the bouquet and fruit basket he had brought.

Caroline followed him.

Only they knew the truth behind Belinda not allowing them to go to the hospital. She did not want them to know how badly Hunter was hurt or gain information about what she and Hunter had discussed behind closed doors.

They must have agreed on something.

In truth, Adrian pitied his father.

His mother was overbearing.

“Why do I need you all here when I’m about to be discharged soon? I can’t distract you from work. Just tell the butler to arrange for two people to come over.”

Adrian said gently, “Dad, taking care of you when you’re hospitalized is our responsibility as children.”
